Sin leaned away from her when she got too close for comfort when he approached his shoulder. However, she was not to be denied the pleasure of poking around in the area with her blasted cold nose. Sin’s ears flicked backwards uncomfortably, but he remained sitting and within reach of her. After all, if she were training as a healer, she was probably eager to demonstrate her skills, just like he was. He may as well let her. However, he had been expected her to leave and get like… some fruity paste or something ridiculously over-reactive to apply to the small scratch. But then she licked him. Sin’s eye widened at the soft touch of her puppy-tongue wiping the blood away.
He stiffened ever so slightly, not entirely sure of the feeling that made him want to squirm away, but also kept him in place. If he wasn’t covered in fur, his skin would have surely been cherry red with… embarrassment? Or maybe discomfort… Sin forced himself to relax, however, and waited patiently until she was finished after a few wipes of her tongue. “Thank you,” Sinclair told her, feeling somehow illogically shy. He should have just left when he had had the chance to. Why was he still hanging around? Probably because he didn’t really feel angry anymore… but why not? She had wronged him, after all.
…Whatever. No longer important. Sin’s ears perked forwards when she finally responded to his question. Cersei sounded like a princess’ name. He hadn’t heard much about her aside that she was training in a lot of things to become a Primus. That sounded like a headache to Sinclair. How could one wolf be good at anything if they pursued all things? Well, perhaps some wolves could do that, but Sinclair new he wouldn’t be one of them. He had no aptitude for memorizing herbs or going undercover. He studied Cersei a moment. He didn’t believe she did either, but maybe that was because she was only a princess to him and one that he might be assigned to protect one day. Why did he wish that upon himself? It was beyond him…
He frowned a bit at her comment that she wasn’t just a princess. If she said so, he wasn’t going to argue, but he quietly disagreed. She was already controlling, over reactive, and pretty despite having a messy coat at the moment. Sinclair tilted his head at that. Well… on second thought, what just princess would be okay with getting her fur dirty and pick a fight? He found himself grinning slightly. So, maybe he was prejudging her. If she wasn’t just a princess, maybe she was actually a pup he could relate to.
Sin’s tail waved happily once before stilling when she stuck her nose out at him and sniffed him as if he were something foreign. Did he smell bad or something? Maybe he had forgotten to roll in forest-scents today… His ears tilted backwards as he tried to remember. No, no he had. He was sure of it. Sin eyed her analytical face, before shrugging it off and listening to her next question. He opened his mouth to respond, but Cersei motored right along and fired two more questions at him. Gosh, how was he supposed to keep up?! He didn't have a brain that worked in hyper active mode! Or maybe his responses were slow because he still had to translate some of her words in his head to Latin before he truly understood.
“My name is Sinclair. I’ve been around my mom’s den-sight up until this spring. Maybe that’s why you haven’t seen much of me,” Sinclair explained, “As for the other pups. I’m sure they’ve just been busy with training. Even I haven’t met any of them, except for my brother Lamar.”
With the constant instability of the Alpha position recently, everyone had become pretty introverted and kept to themselves, waiting for the next wolf to declare they were a capable leader. From the sounds of it, the constant change in leadership was destructive to the pack’s moral. However, now that Sin could, he wanted to help keep the pack stable and see everyone happy. He looked at Cersei with a new perspective. She was lively, and despite being totally unreasonable, she seemed joyful. That made Sin’s tail wag behind him without restraint. Joy was just as contagious as yawns were! By just being herself, she would probably liven up the pack.
“I could introduce you to Lamar, if you’d like. I don’t know when he’s training, but he’d be at dinner. So, you could come have dinner with my family and me,” Sin offered, “What do you say?” He was sure his mom would like Cersei and he wanted his mom to be happier. Sinopa seemed… always a bit sad. Maybe it was only his feelings as a son for his parent that he imagined she was always too stressed. However, he wanted to do nice things for her regardless. He wagged his tail more vigorously at the thought of having company over for dinner! They had never done that before. |
