Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Uh, what a terrible morning... night, whatever! Firstly, it was summer. It was hot and dry and brown. How had she managed to get rained on?! It had started off as a nice, clear night with stars sparkling and fireflies glimmering on the fields. And then, out of nowhere, the sky clouded up and bam! Rain. Like the world was out to spite her. A ghastly downpour that she was caught in with no shelter for miles. She had been soaked to her bones. Plus, she had thin, short fur, mostly, and the thick fur she had soaked up water like a plant after a draught. SOAKED! Cold and wet and out he open she had been.

Well, she had thought that she had had her dose of bad luck. Even though she had been rained on and sleep deprived, she had had the audacity to think, They say, after all that rain is good for the coat. Could be worse. Tomorrow it will be sunny and I'll dry off. Well guess what?! The damn clouds didn't leave! All morning they stayed and Shimza was left to shiver in the damp morning until the wind, not the sun, had blown her dry. Since then, the sky had become only partly cloudy. So Shimza, chilled and tired, decided she try to pep herself up by going for a hunt.

Then hunt was no better. Not only were there only thin, measly vermin about, but the few she had pursued got away. Well, she figured hopelessly, just one last try. Then the worst happened. The worst part of the entire last 24 hours was that on the last stinking hunt for a scrawny, worthless little rabbit. She sprang for it and missed, but it wasn't the missing that really got her in a tizzy. She stubbed her toes and chipped her nail on a rock that was in an improper place.

"Grr! Could this day get any worse?!" Shimza spouted as she sat on her haunches and examined the ugly, white scrape that had appeared on her darling, shiny, honey colored claw, "Rained on, no sleep, chilled. And now?! Now this?! Thank you world for this oh-so-wonderful gift when I was just trying to have a nice normal morning." Shimza dropped her paw, rolling her eyes in distress as she carried on, "What do you want you sadistic ball of water and mud?! For me to shout my distress out and ruin everyone else's day of hunting?! Well fine, let's ruin everyone's day." Shimza waved her stubbed paw in distress as she whined emphatically for the entirety of the fields to hear, "Thou hath cursed me with black luck! Ooh, woe is me!"
