Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

beautiful whispers leave one so fair,
rid us of this beloved curse.

There was an everlasting sadness - perhaps a dash of resentment as well - living in the ethereal being that is Verity. She is a child once held so highly in her mother's eyes, as an only daughter, first-born.. a miracle - she had said. Her mother had little to no chance of ever conceiving and yet here her daughter of silver and earth stands - yet alone, she does stand.

She has grown up lithe and nimble, taking bits and pieces of her father's immense legginess and pairing it with her mother's slender figure. She was the only remaining child of two that Prae had bore that treacherous day and a lingering sorrow fills her very soul at never being able to see her mother again. This gaping hole in the girl's being sets her off on many wanderings, trying to find things that may interest her to some degree, such as that strange fellow named Jago who she had met just here in the fields the past season. He was interesting enough for her to forget her misery and become lost in another story - his own. How one acts tells more of a story than someone may first believe; Jago was forward, assuming, and confident - signs that Verity saw as results of a childhood lost under the shadow of another, perhaps a bit of sibling rivalry, though masked beneath the face of playful banter. The silver laced girl enjoyed reading others just as much as she loved to test them - to push and pull at their mental state as she felt around for strengths and weakness not from the perspective of finding them to destroy the other, but simply from curiosity alone.

Today, she strides slowly as she always does, away from her banal den in the forest and into the fields once again; they have often become the area of her attention as she appreciated the way in which the lights of the sky played on the water's surface. But on this day, she did not expect to see so many by the lake, there were never this many. Why was this so? She halts in her movement to observe those in the distance, her earthy masked face pointed in the direction of the water source before deciding to find solace in the shadows, as she always did. Though another - Vera - also remains here and she finds it in herself to sit adjacent to the female, not looking, nor speaking, nor turning a single ear in the direction of the other. She simply sits and watches just as her company does from the comfort of the trees.
