Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Sometimes she dreamed, sometimes she didn't, but usually she dreamed. About random things, about strange things, things that could be called nightmares but usually never left her shaking. Tonight though she was almost dreaming, mind still whirring though it slowed down with each passing minute as it surrendered more and more to sleep. Maybe she slept more deeply up here because she was isolated, secluded. There was one way to her cave and one way only, and she was confident in her ability to sense danger before it got close enough to do any real harm. Besides, the cliffs were too treacherous for anyone or anything who did not know them and the Glorall wolves were the only big predators calling them home. She was safe here, though her body was still wired to think she was not. Call it ridiculous or overcautious, but she took comfort in the fact that she would sense anyone near.

Anyone but him, apparently. Her body or her subconscious must feel safe with him at some level, seeing as it didn't so much as stir as he came closer to her hideout. Didn't so much as twitch as he laid down beside her and pressed close, almost protectively. She dimly registered the new pressure deep in her mind though didn't make any connections. Her own head curled on its own accord, twisting to nuzzle into his chest, a paw resting over his foreleg. It was fall now, and the nights were chilling, getting ready for the deep freeze of winter. Huh, winter. It would be his second winter in Glorall, managing not to get himself killed or mauled or have Jag run him off. That in itself was an accomplishment, really.

His warmth started to tug at the edges of her dreams, invading her conscious slowly at first. The Amazon sighed in her sleep, cuddling deeper into that warmth, not quite awake yet. She frowned as she felt fur against her cheek, real fur and not dream fur, and his familiar scent finally registered. That's odd, she'd never had such a vivid dream, and why was Splash in it?! She though the Splash infested dreams had stopped months ago but apparently not.

Her eyes shot wide, tensing up almost immediately and just stopping herself from shooting to the other side of her cave. When did he get here?! And more importantly, why wasn't she mad?! Sure, she was kind of mad she didn't sense him following her, key word: kind of. She had to try to make herself mad about him curling up with her. It was actually nice. Nice to share someone else's body heat in a cold, rock cave in a cold, windy night. Nice to have someone to snuggle with, to hear their heartbeat and their breathing rather than just hers. Oh lord, did she actually like this?

She closed her eyes and huffed. No. No she did not. She couldn't. Could she?

Ignoring how much she wanted to just forget about the whole thing and go back to sleep against him, she didn't. She growled, roughly pulling away from him, sleep making her clumsy."What," She asked, voice soft yet still with a bite, and just like her movements affected by sleep, voice thick with it. "Are you doing here?" He'd found her second den, and she had no logical excuse for him not to share it other than she didn't want him too.

But she did. Her refusal was only because she'd been alone for so very long, didn't know how to be with anyone -let alone one so determined as the merle- and had denied it for so very long she couldn't reveal her true feelings now after all her fights and denials and growls, now could she?
