The cold days had been the hardest for him, because he had to admit to his too-thin body, too tall and without the focused heat center of smaller, thicker wolves. There had been days he wasn't sure he'd make it with the lack of those with him, but he had learned to make a kill if he could before sleep so to curl up to something for the small amount of heat it provided before it too went cold. He had wished to be curled up and tucked away with Micteca -- they were such a strange pair, being so tall with one so small -- but Sabriel wished that things had gone in a totally different way. He wished that life was easier to begin with.

With Micteca answering Isola, Sabriel waited, looking longingly at his mate and wanting to press to her side again for the comfort of such a touch. He refrained for now, however. Let the business of all of it get figured out first. He listened to what was said, noted the look from Micteca and smiled gratefully to her. The circumstances had been less than ideal, but it had worked out so much better than Sabriel had imagined it would. How could he not fall for Micteca and her sweet nature? She was the perfect sort of mate that Sabriel hadn't thought he could have, looking as he did. He always thought looking like this would work against him.

A long story. Yes and no, but he wasn't going to say anything if Micteca did not want to give details just now. He would trust her judgement in this. She knew what she was doing, he was sure. Nothing bad with the details, but he wasn't really sure about this place and their values. There is some level of discomfort to the language he does not know being spoken, but he tries to look away and not seem too awkward in this. Then Isola was stepping around to look at him, and Sabriel looked at her thoughtfully. He wasn't sure what she was looking for, but he would wait and see. Then there was a smile from the alpha, and Sabriel felt better.

A welcome to the lands, to Diveen, and he was thankful for it. Then the question of his birth and he felt a little uncomfortable for a moment. But the words that came after of his eyes made him feel a little better over the matter. "I have two fathers; Tarquin and Makism, and my birth mother was called.. Cassie, I think. She died when I was too little to remember her, but my eyes are said to be like hers, sorta. Pompeii raised me." He stated these things lightly, nodding. "And I am grateful for the welcome here, for I very much want to be here for Micteca." He added gently, beaming over at his mate happily.
