Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

I move past hte borders of Diveen, my nose hot on the trail of...something. I don't know. All I know is I've been tracking this something for days now and I'm not about to give up! I hunt when I'm hungry and sleep when I'm tired. Otherwise, I track. If I'm going to be a top notch assassin some day then I've got to get to training. My parents won't let someone else train me to kill so I've had to train myself. Since I was a yearling, I took on wrestling with logs and bushes and Guardian when I can find him. He knows how to keep things like that a secret because I don't need my parents finding out that I'm still wanting to be an assassin. They would never allow it but they have no idea what I have in mind. I'm going to get my wish, one way or another.

I'm out in the open lands now but I keep going. I'm not about to hesitate just because I'm no longer in my protected zone. I can protect myself now. Sure, I'm still a gangly two year old but my muscles are filling out nicely since i've been training and running and fighting every day. At first I just got sore a lot and I wanted to give up more than once but I kept pushing myself because I know that's the only way this is going to work. I've been avoiding most of my family too so that when the time comes, it'll be easier for them to go along with my plan. So far everything's falling into place. The only one whose been able to slip past my defenses so far is my little sister Sage. She can be so nosy sometimes, but even she won't ruin my plans.

When I hear splashing, I pause, ears flickering as my tail waves behind me. What's that? I peek through the bushes with tri colored eyes, taking in the white wolf playing in the water. Isn't it getting a bit too cool for that? It's soon to be winter after all. I head toward her crouched, my head down, ears forward, just like I hunt. My eyes narrow, wanting to know more about her before I show myself. When I see her face, my eyes widen. Such strange markings, so exotic. Her eyes are almost the same lavender of grandpa Heyel's. I don't remember seeing her around Diveen though and she certainly doesn't smell like my pack so she has to be a loner or from another pack. Not that it matters.

I step into sight, looking curiously down at the fish under her paw. Tilting my head as I look at her then back at the fish, my voice comes out soft and yet eeriely intense, like I'm willing it to die with just a look.

"Why wouldn't it? You might as well end its suffering."

I'm usually not so melodramatic but I guess if I'm going to be a killer some day then I've got to start watching things die. Today's just as good a day as any.
