aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Loyalty means nothing unless it has at its heart the absolute principle of self-sacrifice

The large grey brute stirred just so, and reached out, his front paws stretching out to curl around his daughter and draw her toward him. His lids, however, snapped open when his tightened limbs were found to be empty, his daughter not there. He stood immediately and, after tenderly nuzzling his mate, exited the den, his nares flaring wide as he followed his daughter’s scent. As soon as he exited his den, made out of a grove of trees, the chilled night air had awoken all of his senses. Winter was almost here. The wind brought the frigidness straight through his coat and he was grateful that his winter pelt was growing in. Before he continued on with finding his daughter, he found that the cold wind also brought to him a strange, alien scent. There had been no alerting howl, no call for anyone. Was this an intruder in his lands?

He set into an easy gait, albeit an awkward one. Traveling with a limp due to his recent battle, he knew that if he rushed off to save his daughter, who no doubt was finding this alien, he would reinjure his wounds which had only recently closed. And so, though his head and heart were screaming for him to hurry to find his daughter, he warmed up his sleeping muscles until they were stretched enough to allow his gait to lengthen. He inhaled deeply with each step that he took and his nose crinkled. The alien scent was intertwined with something unknown to him. A creature that he had never smelled before… but as to what it was, he did not know.

Deeper and deeper into his territory he went until he found that both his daughter’s scent and the stranger’s scent. Though it was the dark of the night, he still managed to find the duo, and he walked up to his daughter, gently nudging her. His tongue escaped to lick the top of her head. “You scared me, my little love.” Glancing up at the stranger, he surprisingly did not grill her for why she was within his lands, in the night, without permission. Whether it was due to the lack of energy he had, having just won a fight to protect his lands, or whether it was his daughter’s presence, he was kind and understanding, rather than on-guard and defensive. “Why is it that you have come into my lands without permission, especially in the dead of the night?” He kept his hackles from raising, and instead looked upon her with intrigued. “I am assuming that my daughter has already introduced herself, but I am Kalgalath, the Alpha of Aurora Borealis, the pack which you are in.” His vocals were a deep baritone, but his words were hardly more than a whisper.
