The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

Trying to Forget the Past, This Was Never Meant to Last

The black femme stood beside her companion, Magic speaking to Kershov, an excuse for them to explore the white titan’s terra coming from her maw. Chenzii didn’t speak, not yet anyways, letting Magic tell the king a false reason for what brought them there. She was not sure what led Magic to lie and not just ask about the rumored new alphess, but Magic had been around these areas longer than Chenzii and she trusted her friend’s judgment. The white king nodded at them as he spoke with a grin, “I understand your predicament. I shall be glad to escort you into Abendrot.” He circled around the pair and came up behind them, allowing them to walk first through the territory, “After you, mademoiselles.” Having the white brute behind her made Chenzii uneasy. She did not know much about Kershov, but what she had heard did not make him out to be the friendliest of lupines. She was not expecting a friendly welcome into his lands and the easy way he was letting them in made her nervous. Her instincts were to run, run far away from these wolves here in Abendrot. She did not doubt that these wolves would bring trouble, but what more was there to do? If she didn’t head into the territory then Kershov would know that Magic had been lying, and she imagined that that would make him angry.

Before Chenzii or Magic had a chance to move another brute appeared through the trees. The black ess had no idea how long the dark lupine had been in the shadows but he nodded to Kershov as he approached, “My welcome to you, Aurora wolves. I am Marx, Head of the Soldiers, mind if I help you sniff out your suspect?” Another Abendrot wolf acting friendly? This was not adding up to Chenzii. All the stories and rumors of this pack talked of blood thirsty killers that attacked strangers that came to the borders. Why was the alpha and the head of soldiers being so easy going about the two femmes entering their territory? Chenzii’s yellow orbs looked in concern toward her friend, but she didn’t see any other option for the two at this point. For the first time, Chenzii spoke, ”Hello Marx, I am Chenzii and this is Magic,” She nodded her head in the direction of her friend, ”Thank you Kershov, for granting us access to your lands. I promise you we shall be quick.” The sooner that Chenzii and Magic could get in and try to hear about this unknown alphess and get out the better, she did not trust either of these brutes.

Without hesitation the black femme stepped forward into the territory, assuming that her companion would follow. She had no idea where Kershov and Marx intended for them to go, but she walked in, Kershov behind the two females and Marx coming beside them. Chenzii stayed alert, ears perked, yellow orbs looking at every shadow, hoping that they were not walking into a trap. She had to go along with the façade that they were searching for a missing lupine, so she sniffed around here and there, pretending that she was looking for a scent. She kept a wary eye on the two brutes escorting them, hoping to run into this new alphess and see what the deal was on that.
