Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

goes the clock, we laughed at fate and mourned her, tick tock goes the clock even for the monster

Reflection. It was rare to find the Monster in such a calm state. There along the river banks peeking through the reeds sat an alone ebony painted minx. There was something quite unnerving about her. That ebony coat, littered with light grey markings, was providing a decent camouflage along the banks of the river on this cool autumn night. Thick hide held various faded scars and healed wounds all across her bent form. It would seem that she had just come through a harrowing scuffle, but little would anyone know, that it was her life she was trying to endure. Sure, everyone else had their struggles with their own timeline, but some were destined to have a more difficult one. At least that was what she was told as a pup. It wasn’t something she understood, but over time she accepted her fate. So, if fate wanted to take everything out on her then so bet it, at least in return she would have thicker skin. On a typical night she would be on some sort of small hunt to catch insignificant prey over here and over there, but for tonight she wasn’t hungry. Well she was. Yet what she hungered was something that could not be filled with sustenance. What she craved for was something was far more rewarding and filling too.

The sound of the trickling babble from the river was quite soothing at the dead of night. Blue eyes, specked with purple were locked in the clear water, cold eyes betraying a dark hidden longing. The water she saw before her was erased and all she could see was the vision of her past. There were just some things she didn’t want to relive. Yet on nights like these, when she would stare at her ghastly façade she couldn’t help, but wonder what she would have been if she was not kicked out as a pup. Perhaps wishful desires and haunting memories shouldn’t mix. Long jagged scar that trailed at the top of her forehead over her left eye seemed to twinge with pain as the haunting image began to appear. With a soft growl she shook her head, eyes closed, as she broke the image forcing herself to not dwell on the past. There were just some things that were not meant to be remembered. Dark eyes reopened as she look at her haggard reflection ignoring the twinkling stars and the waning moon. Focusing more on just what she was supposed to do in this new place.
