Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Ieron had angered the other that much was clear by the deadly glare he received. The older male simply swished his tail back and forth in a sign of what might be considered boredom. He was not threatened by the growl but he did stop his slow pace forward and stood a safe distance away. Should this turn into a fight, the strange colored one would have to step forward. There was a silence between them as they seemed to stare each other down, but the golden one spoke first and the words almost made Ieron laugh. Hunting an art? What a strange thing to say. It took skill and accuracy to bring down prey so another animal who wanted to live. There was nothing fancy about it and in Ieron's eyes it was the swift and easy kills that were the best way to hunt. But to each their own. The desert wolf wasn't going to hold it over his younger companions head if he chose to hunt differently. Of course, had the younger decided to blame Ieron for the loss of his prey, sharp words would have been exchanged. But the black boy was smart and knew when to pick his battles. That was a good sign. Maybe there was some promise in him.

He spoke again, his words thick with sarcasm that Ieron chose to ignore, and the lighter wolf smiled. "You may call me Ieron. I-" He never got to finish his introduction. Another wolf, this one colored even more oddly than the boy, came charging into the clearing and all at once the boy's focus was removed from the strange to this other wolf. With a frustrated growl, Ieron looked at her and felt his jaw fall. She was female, her sleek, curvy form gave that away, but was she part skunk? Her markings looked just like those of the vile beast that smelled foul and had a nasty attitude. Could wolves mate with skunks in this land? Such a thought stole the words from Ieron as he could only stare at her. She ignored him as her gaze stayed upon the other wolf, calling him Asa and he called her Orca. What kind of names were those? It seemed these two knew each other and the meeting was long overdue. Both had wide eyes and smiles of their faces and it looked as if they had both seen a ghost. It was all rather amusing for Ieron and he was content to sit and watch the show play out before him. Perhaps he would learn something about how wolves behaved in this new land.
