Moving along the curves of the River, Kyina occasionally took glances at her reflection, her surroundings, and at the ground below her paws. The grass was starting to crackle under her weight. It was dying, the grass. Winter was coming and from the feeling she was getting in her aching bones, it would be rough this year.

Coming around a long bend, Kyina noticed a steel gray brute watching her. Her only aud lay against her skull and her jaw clenched as she tried to ignore the male. Goosebumps covered her body as the feeling of being watched washed over her. Shivering as if she jump fell in an ice cold bath, she tried to pick up the pace, anything to get away from the one staring at her.

Movement caught her orbs and she sidestepped to glance behind her as the brute moved towards her. Frozen in her paws, she watched as he stood just feet from her shoulder. Her hackles rose without her telling them two. Her eyes glanced left, right and left again; trying to find the quickest escape route. What did this brute want? Looking back to him, she didn't back down. If he looked at her, she looked back. She refused to stand down to anything or anyone. Regardless how scared she was.

Her fear of males had been getting better over the years, but the fear was still there. The hatred of brutes was still in her heart. Moth had helped her over the years she had lived in Saw Tooth, and then she met Vladimir. It was as if an "off" switch was flicked and all her hatred and fear turning into love and affection. And when he died, all of that disappeared again and the fear returned. And this brute. This silver gray brute with eyes like the tree tops.

Looking back to the brute, he was watching her. He smiled for a moment as the water splashed up at him. Well, at least he wasn't horrible looking. He did have a nice smile. Biting her tongue, she banished the thoughts. Before she could kick herself more, the brute started talking.

Why was he asking her about her scars? Was it that obvious that she hated the way she looked with all of them? Glancing at her reflection, she noted how they crossed across her face in long and short streaks. "I guess they bother me... But I've had them for so long, that if I'm not looking at my reflection I don't remember they are there..." Kyina looked at the brute. Her fear diminished in that glance. Relaxing she sat upon her haunches.

The brute lifted his nose and sniffed at the air between them. Curious, she did the same. Her orbs widened with surprise. He smelt of Moth! Her tail wagged for moment at the thought of Moth. "Yes, I'm a member of Spring Grounds. I used to be apart of Saw Tooth, and sometimes I float between the two. Sometimes I think I'm split between the two." Thinking to herself. She wondered why she still stayed in Spring Grounds. Perhaps it was because Vladimir was from that pack. And maybe if she still lived there, she would still feel him. Sighing, she returned her attention to the brute. Who's name she just learned.

"Swordfighter? That's an interesting name. May I ask how you got it? As for my name, it's Kyina." The brutes- Swordfighter's orbs scanned her face. His head titled to the side as he watched her. Feeling shy, she ducked her head and acted as if her leg itched. Gnawing at her leg for a moment, she looked back up, this time though she looked at the water instead of those green eyes.

Twitching her ear back, she listened to his words. They had her frowning. Looking at her paws, she felt defeated. "I was only a pup when I got these scars. I hadn't a clue how to clean them, or that I was suppose to clean them. I never had a mother. She had left with my brother; leaving me behind. I don't think I blame her, or Kodizu, my brother. I knew only one of us could get away, and I think my mother knew I was the stronger of the two. I doubt Kodizu could handle what had happened to me. He was always so kind-hearted and sweet, I guess I just turned out like him." Shrugging, Kyina stood and started to walk along the river again. Looking back, she silently accepted Swordfighter's presence, welcoming him to join her in her walk.

When he joined her, she kept going on, "No, you're find to ask. I just, never actually talked about this before other than with Moth. What happened was that my sire was kind of a psychopath. He was cold and black, from the color of his pelt, to the depths of his soul. He led the pack to the raping and abuse of other packs' females, killing all the males as they go. Since I was his only daughter, I stayed with the pack. I was... used... when the males of the pack got bored and restless. Sometimes one on one, and sometimes they would help themselves in teams." Shrugging again, it seemed effortless to talk to Swordfighter. Looking to the brute beside her, she smiled lightly. It wasn't an ear to ear smile, but it was something other than her usual frown.

Kyina was okay with her past. It was in the past after all. She accepted what has happened to her, and she's moved on somewhat. Her fear of brutes was still there, but it seemed, just like Vladimir, this brute was also able to help, even if he didn't know he was.
