News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

Teaching, right? Well, it'd be new for her, that much was true but Alcide had faith in her and she was determined not to let him down. After all, she'd found purpose and belonging within Spirane and wished to repay such a find. But teaching? She'd taught her own children once, so long ago, but such teachings were but a mother's schooling - the basics, and never did pack relations depend on her education. What if she were to say the wrong thing? What if she were no good? Would Diveen's alliance with the mountain crumble atop her? At any rate, she had to believe it wasn't the case otherwise she'd make herself sick to the bone with worry. That had always been her curse, her nervousness and inkling to doubt herself. This time, though, she at least took to a morning walk to ease her mind, or at least try to.

The more time she spent within Spirane, the more inclined she was to believe that she had waited for the perfect moment before returning to Moladion. She had beautiful memories, and was surrounded by beautiful nature and souls, and she had rediscovered pieces of herself that she had once imagined lost. Perhaps she could never repay Alcide, but she'd try! Already, she had begun to contemplate ways in which she could serve not only Alcide but also his children, especially the young girl, Dany. Oh, she would be Queen soon enough, a thought that gladdened Niviaq and reminded her of home; she was to watch Soldat's own daughters become Queens one day, but they and their kingdom was but a dream now. Instead, she'd been given another chance to watch a family prosper and to aid in such a thing - she'd even been given Pan, as disagreeable as he could be. No, she couldn't say she understood the boy or the two of them at all but she did understand that he had filled a missing piece somewhere inside. Perhaps he hadn't filled the gap Faol'an had left, but he'd mended something. Usually, those thoughts would have filled her with concern but no, she found herself smiling small and butter yellow, enjoying all that had happened since her arrival. Yes, she'd waited for the perfect time to return home but not so much the perfect time to return to her den.

She moved up the slope and instantly, her eyes fell on the brown and white form of a boy, a boy she presumed to be Meryl of Diveen. For a moment, her heart gave a flutter of nervousness and her stomach knotted, but she refused to pause and feel such silliness. No, today she would be Niviaq the teacher and she would teach him all she knew, and learn all that she could in turn. If she tried, then she'd get what she deserved, right? For now, it was simply a matter of getting started.

"Meryl?"

She piped up, her voice both questioning and thick with hope, praying on her lucky stars she had not addressed the wrong wolf (or come face to face with an intruder.) He fit the bill at least - small like she with a kind face and fur of cocoa and snow. Along with her query, she gave him an even broader smile, her tail waving excitedly behind her as she came to a stop some distance from him, though close enough to see him eye to eye.

Before him was her den, no doubt having drawn him in with the scents of it all. Niviaq had always been a collector - bones, unusual stones, leaves, feathers, and a den of buried tubules and neatly positioned seeds and leaves. Perhaps that had been why she had been so drawn to healing - part desire to collect, and part desire to help all those around her. She'd gotten close to the ocean a few times, having brought back a collection of shells and the likes, too. Today, she would teach another about the usefulness of the ocean, or so she hoped at least.

"Niviaq at your service!"

She chimed again, her nerves breaking her thought pattern and yet, her voice remained playful as she fell into an exaggerated bow. Though they were on business, it would not hurt to open it up with a less serious tone, or so she hoped at least. It had been difficult to learn in life that sometimes, others were simply not as interested in cheerfulness and light heartedness as she. Would Meryl be as such? Or would she make a friend from these lessons too, and not simply a funnel in which to pour her knowledge? Before she started, she wanted to gauge his reaction and test the waters. She could do fun teacher, she knew that, and part of her hoped she would not need to wear such a serious façade.
