Traydon River

This river is famously known for its fish!

There was a time when the relatively thin layer of snow that coated these lands would have repulsed him, and he would have longed for the warmer climates of his former pack. Honestly, the thought made the older wolf smile; he’d come a long way since he arrived on the mountain all those years ago. The trip out to Traydon from Ice had taken less time than the brute had expected; flight proving to be a much more efficient mode of transport than travelling on foot would have been. As the brute touched down on the riverbank, the snow beneath his paws crunching lightly as he did so, he found himself wondering what had brought him out here today. Traydon had been a common haunt of the Rex’s; was it possible that he had come here to think? He supposed that would make sense.

The tall, ebony coloured wolf folded his feathered wings against his sides and started to wander along the riverbank, his crimson coloured optics clouded with thought. He’d never expected to be where he was now; the alpha of the pack that for the first few years of his life here he was almost certain that he hated… it was funny how things turned out. He’d also never expected to be a father, but he’d raised not only numerous mythicals and his own siblings, but a litter of his own. Though Rex wouldn’t admit it- he doubted his pride would allow it- he missed the simplicity of family life. Perhaps he should start again, if anyone would have a grumpy old brute like him. He almost laughed, no; that would be absolutely ridiculous…

Rex wasn’t exactly difficult to pick out against the landscape; his greying coat easily distinguishable from the almost pristine white snow that surrounded him. But then again, Hayazo wasn’t exactly difficult to spot either. Repeated use of the mitternacht blessing over the years had kept Rex’s senses keen, enhancing them to some extent, so his eyesight had not suffered. The sight of the other brute caused the wolf to pause, and he was suddenly unsure as to whether or not he should approach. After a few moments consideration, and a brief mental scolding, the brute decided that he might as well go and say hello; there was no point in being antisocial, after all. So Rex continued his course, coming to a halt a couple of feet away from the Coral Flower alpha.

“Mind if I join you?” Rex asked tentatively, his head inclined in a slight tilt. If Hayazo’s answer was a no, then he would merely continue his wandering, if it was a yes, then he might just have an interesting encounter.
