Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

Return to Lunar Children
I fell in love with a shooting star
IP: 24.27.101.126

Starfall is fully aware that his father was not happy, and the way that he scans his body, he knows that Azrael is unhappy with his hair. What does it matter? Who cares? Star's hair got messes up no matter what he does. He isn't going to spend his time grooming when there is so much more to do in the world. Starfall also lacked that vanity gene that seemed to affect half of the family. Star rolled his brilliant opal eyes as he sat before his father, already...irritated at his presence. Especially in how his father is here. Not in a loving and accepting way, but here in typical anger and frustration. Why couldn't he just be happy that Starfall was out in a place where he feels like he actually matters?

After stating what seemed to be the obvious to Starfall, Azrael seemed to be surprised. Starfall's brows lowered, his tail slashed behind him and tossing dirt aside. Azrael is irritated, angry as usual and Starfall knew exactly where all of this was going. Starfall huffs when Azrael begins to speak, his eyes looking off into the distance as he listens to Azrael's lecture. No right to leave the family? He is an individual. He is his own wolf, with his own desires and feelings. His eyes narrow and they snap back towards his father.

"I can do whatever I damn well want! You might be content to live in the shadows of many, but I am not. I am out here to do what I need to do. Taviora needs me, and I know this through and through...and there is nothing you can do to stop me!" he barked, his red hackles raising even more from the tone his father was giving him. Starfall didn't take well to being yelled at.

Of course none of this was going to help, and Starfall was not the best at controlling his emotions when his father was involved. Especially after a shift in worlds. At the moment, he just wanted to be alone. He wanted to go back to the world he was at before his father came storming into this territory, without permission at that. Azrael continued to yell, defending his mother as Starfall would expect, but the boy was hardly listening with any intensity. He complained about how he never told them of the fact he was leaving, when he did in fact do, at least...he thought. He was certain he had told Azrael of the glowing white wolf that morphed into Coza. How Coza spoke of him as if he was the kind of wolf he was used to being around. A thing Starfall needed in his life. He knew it was fate on that day for him to meet the now alpha of these lands, and he knew...he just knew he told Azrael about it all, and he was simply angry, flustered, and frustrated about it all. Why must life be so damn confusing and weird? Why couldn't he be back on the mountain gazing at the calming aurora? Starfall didn't even bother to reply to his father's second statement. He simply kept his nose in the air, his star-touched face glancing to the side slightly. There was no explaining to be done. He had tried already, and Azrael does not understand. Part of the reason why Starfall needed to leave. He needed a place where the authority figure understood him and his kind. Living with Azrael was...just too difficult. His last statement only proved it further.

"You...you just don't understand. You never will!" he said hastily, as he got to his black paws, glaring once at his father before turning his back to him. He was not about to deal with this right now. He would speak to Azrael when he was...understanding, when he would listen to him.

"I am fine and you don't have to worry. I am where I belong," he says as he begins to trot towards the dense trees ahead. He was young, yes, but he was already vying for his independence. His teenage stubbornness, and changing hormones, didn't help the situation much either.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
