News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

Heaven's Not Enough -TALIESIN-
IP: 70.182.97.238

Silveren form ghosted across the mountainside in a serene silence. It was not by any means an intimidating silence, but the calm soothing demeanor of a Mother who coddles her babe close to her breast as it sleeps. Paws touch the earth with a certain amount of reverence and respect. This mountain had been her home long before the cataclysm. Perhaps it’s face had changed. Perhaps it’s former glorious peaks had crumbled, but this was still the same rock, the same stone… and it whispered to her in the same voice that all the Great Spirits of the Earth had always spoken to her in. It was a language that could be felt and heard, but never spoken.
Life is not always fair, nor is it always kind or understanding. It feels as though I’ve only just returned home… and now it is Alcide’s turn to abruptly depart. Our relationship has been filled with this strange dance of disappearing and reuniting over and over again. It never gets any easier, not for either one of us. Of course, being a Shaman-born, I had been lured away many times over from the mountainside by the Sprits that guide me. I hadn’t even reached two years of age when the Great Spirit first spoke my name in my dreams and heralded me to go out into the vast wilderness and learn what the Ancients of Ole had to teach me in the ways of a Healer. Once I had found my imprint, the two of us had always shared a silent understanding about these lapses of absence. We both knew at any moment, that either one of us may be called away by forces the Other might not fully understand.
Now it was my turn to take back up the reigns and take the Mountain back into my Keeping, not that it ever wasn’t. I was happy to take the responsibility back until my Beloved return, and in the meantime I would do something that was much needed amongst the wolves in my pack that have been neglected by my absence. In particular, my cubs. I have missed so much of my little Daenerys’ childhood, and I was full of regret that my obligations were torn between being a mother to her and being a Shamaness. There were things I wished to experience with her, to share with her and teach her and by the Great Spirits I would. But she was not the only child here lacking a mother. As my parents, Boneclaw and Thunderbone before me, we Mountain wolves had given sanctuary to any cubs in need of a place. Cubs In need of parents to love and protect them. Ceal, Taliesin, Leonidas…. They were all in need of a mother, or at very least a matriarchal figure to lend support and advice where it was needed.
It was also my hope to send out a search for my son, Swallowbane. Sleekwing was strong and independent, much like his sister Orca. But Swallow had always been a brazen and oft-times sullen soul. I know not what plagues him but I’d do my best to heal his inner turmoil- if I could.
But one step at a time, yes?
So today I take the first baby step in healing old wounds. There was one little face on the mountain I’d not spent much time with, one whose mother I’d once made a promise to and had epically failed at. I was supposed to love him and care for him and his sister. But his sister was missing, and though he’d grown up under the protection of the mountain, I can’t say I’d ever given him the attention he deserves. So I seek out his figure now, the young gangly frame of a two year old just breaching adulthood.
”Taliesin…” I speak his name in a gentle, somewhat remorseful tone. ”May I spend some time in your company, young one? There are some things I’d like to share with you… if you’ve the time, of course.”
