Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

For some time, he had considered whether or not he should attempt to instigate a meeting between Ruvindra and Caligula. Surely there had to be some part of their mother that still desired to see her firstborn children, even if they had - supposedly - committed crimes against her. How could she care for Vidar any more than she cared for them? Though he dared not to admit it, part of him felt jaded over her negligence - she had not even come to celebrate that they had finally commandeered a pack together. She had not come, either, when they had born their first or second litter. If he did not know any better, it would have been easy to assume that she had perhaps died somewhere in the marshes of Iromar. Whatever the case, he understood Caligula's desires and even a part of him hoped their mother could forge a relationship with her grandchildren. For all her faults, their mother had always been a fair woman with so much potential. It would have been nice for their own children to benefit some kind of wisdom from her. He considered it for some moments, his eyes narrowed in thoughts, but his train of thought was quickly disrupted as it once more returned to Caligula.

It seemed he rarely got a chance to simply stop and admire the mate he had been so lucky enough to keep close. It seemed somebody or something was always trying to keep him away, keep him busy or just downright annoy him. Not today, though. The borders were marked, the children given their tasks and all other business had been long since tended to. Hell, even if a wolf came to their borders demanding a fight, he'd turn them away and tell them to return another day. Or, he'd let Caligula have her way with them - he chuckled at such a thought, watching the way her muscles ruffled her dark pelt like feathers.

Her laugh was a beautiful thing, a sound so seldom heard that he found himself leaning his against her own as the sound came. It was something entirely new to feel the vibrations within her throat, the air rushing through it - he imagined feeling such a thing was rare for any pair. How often did one see mates so close as they were? It was a rare thing, he imagined. Nobody completed one another the same way he and she did. Just as nobody managed to make him feel as alive as she did - everything she did was the epitome of wonderful. The way she crawled towards him made him laugh, his tail waving as he barked in encouragement. It was like a race watching her crawl, before he shifted forward in time to have her bury herself against him. What a joy it was to feel her warmth and to hear their hearts beating in sync, a hymn that spoke of their utmost compatibility. It only proved they had been born as one soul, he believed.

"You call that an attack? How do you manage without me, my dear, if that is what you call a bite?"

He teased once more, resting his head atop hers as he nuzzled his muzzle into her neck. For some time, he merely closed his eyes, pressing against her until their fur practically melded together, a Pisces of black and white. Such a thing could hardly seem to last long enough for soon enough, she was pushing off him - he opened his eyes and let out a muffled umph. For a moment, he watched her as she stretched out, his head tilted as he waited to see what exactly she was doing - didn't she know that they had no chores to run today? They could spend all day asleep, coiled up in their den together if that was what she wanted. It seemed, however, that it were not the case.

It was when she suddenly nudged him that he awoke completely, letting out a short bark as he jumped to his feet. He nipped out at her, missing entirely with a metallic snap before he grinned smugly, bemused by her antics. What was she up to now? Whatever it was, he wasn't going to let her have all the fun - like a white bullet, he took off after her, pawing at her whenever he got close enough. They weaved through trees, each twist and turn fast becoming an attempt for him to catch her. Truly, though, he attempted to take their game towards the shoreline - he felt a hunger stir in his stomach, and what better way to pass the time then by attending a dinner and a show? Gulls made for the most fascinating prey, and their shrieking and diving made for a fun game of cat and mouse.
