Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

he who chases the river

He had been far too silent then the Great Mother would have liked. The gray wolf had vanished both in mind and body after the sky fell upon the world, killing his family entirely. He Who Chases The River had been lost. He had felt the powerful bond that connect him to Hazard sever with such a traumatic force that it had caused him to revert back to the true old ways of long ago. He didn't want to think, didn't want to remember, and didn’t want to feel. The wolf simply wanted to be. The Great Mother Earth, ever kind to her children, granted this to her son and allowed He Who Chases The River, known as Bark by most, to become the wolf he was born to be. No voice left his maw in the form of words, no love kept him bound to the land where his family had once lived and grown. No memory of a time when he was a father remained. Bark was just Bark, a gray wolf with only the basic instincts the Great Mother had blessed him with. It was then, when all had been washed away and he was born anew, he returned to the mountain home where his heart belonged.

Only to find that it was under attack. Though Bark did not remember his family or his imprint, he did remember his homeland and the alphas who had once ruled there. Boneclaw and Thunderbone, both proud and noble. But their scent had long since left the mountain. It was replaced by another, all too familiar smell. Bark wagged his tail as he remembered young Moonglow. Memories of when she and her brother were born came back and he remembered playing with them when they were old enough to leave the den. Yes, this was still home. Though things had changed, Bark felt his heart beat inside his chest. Once again, the silent wolf of the mountain had come home. Upon seeing another wolf try to stake a claim on his home, Bark had jumped in to protect it. Hackles raised and teeth barred, Bark challenged the stranger for the right to the land. He would keep it safe until Moonglow returned. But it seemed he didn't have to. The wolfess had come forward and taken her place and Bark backed down with his tail respectfully low. That is when he saw the lad leaving the pack in a huff. There was something about him that drew Bark close. Though his mind could not work it out, the gray wolf knew this brown boy only by his relatives.

Another pair of pups had come to Solevion long ago... Dusk and Demetri. It was their scent, along with others he did not know, that merged together in that child. Curious, Bark followed. Perhaps it would be a mistake as he did not know the rage the young pup was in but it was Bark's duty to keep all wolves within his family safe. So he followed. Ever silent, He Who Chases The River watched as the boy paced within the trees and huffed loudly. Was he sick? Tilting his head to the side, the older male moved closer with a happy wag in his tail and a small whimper of greeting. He remembered a time when he used to introduce himself in a way that was easy for the wolves of Moladion to understand. They were wolves, brothers and sisters, but many of them used a strange dialect to communicate. Bark could understand these words, but he did not know how to make them. He had never learned to speak the common tongue and used the old ways to help him talk. Once he was sure he had the boy's attention, Bark let out a friendly bark. Bark bark bark.

His true name was He Who Chases The River. A name given to him by the Great Mother a long time ago. No one knew this name for he could never tell them. However, Boneclaw had given him another name. A name he wore with as much pride. Bark, you may call me Bark.
