Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

there is more than just flesh.

Eh. Nature. It was gross and dirty and ever trying to muddle her golden fur. Forests, not pine forests, but forests, were the worst culprits. Seriously, the weeds, the bushes, and fallen branches, the mossy logs – they all tried to stick to her! Shimza’s maw twitched in irritation as she kicked away a bur caught on her rear right paw and then strode forwards on agile paws, avoiding the closed spaces of the forest and staying out in the open for all the animals of the woods to gaze upon her in envy. That’s right, vermin. Look and be awe struck by her pristine coat and sophisticated bearing. Shimza rose her head, as if she were the queen of this forsaken freeland, for she was royalty wherever she went. She was a gypsy queen, though there seemed to be few gypsies in the area.

Of course, it was no wonder no pack had taken up permanent residence here. It was a dreadful place. Untamed and full of weeds, did she mention? Oh gosh and abandoned puppies too – wait, what? Shimza paused and back up a few steps to set her glowing eyes upon the small thing wading carelessly through the bushes without a thought in the world for her poor fur! Oh dear. The she-pup was a disaster waiting to happen. But what?! A puppy?! The hell was wrong with parents these days that they couldn’t keep track of some newborn whelp?

Ugh. Her life. Why must she always be presented these mislead children thinking they could handle the wilds on their own? Most of her wanted to leave the pup for dead, but there was that small part, that damned latent motherly good-wolf part that remembered Ohana, that wouldn’t let her continue on. Or maybe it was just the need to help the fur of this pup! Oh, it was painful how she was abusing it! Fine. Fine, stupid world, she’d entertain it. Shimza stepped into the puppy’s path and she said with an edge of forced friendliness but it was mostly irritated or astonished or something other than entirely good natured, “Heavens, child! Look at what you’re doing to your fur! Do you want it to look like a fox stole patches of it?”

Shimza circled around the calico colored puppy slowly with a critical eye, noting each hair that was out of place, each speck of dirt, and especial, every single miniscule plant that was tangled in the whitest parts of the puppy. They seemed to scream to Shimza, “Look here!” and taunt her, “We’re ugly, haha! Ugliness in the world!” Shimza snorted. Oh, indeed the poor girl could use some guidance on how to properly travel so as not to pick up such a filthy appearance.
