The small voice seemed to belong to something other than the wolf she wasn’t seeing. She couldn’t see the esses ear cringe from her laughter and the poor child’s creamy eyes. She didn’t understand the insults she would inflict without purpose, but there was no matter the red wolfess would never know unless they found themselves a way out into the light of the morning which would soon be shining its light in the small cavern entrance that she had managed to enter. Che found herself building up a curiosity to see who this young girl was, but such darkness wouldn’t permit. The red born wolf stared into blackness looking and straining to see her unknown companion. She did not know them until she saw them, and she didn’t know if she’d ever see this girl. The curiosity had created a built up energy that was expelled on jumping backwards from her companions nose and again losing the connection that had built up. Che’s apology sputtered out of her mouth and the small of the two made no sound for a bit. Had she said something to upset the girl? Her towers strained forward and heard the small voice once again, “Oh. I can imagine.” Chevelle thought she heard something in the girls voice change but she couldn’t be certain… maybe it was just quiet for her to actually her anything and everything she had been saying was to nothing but her own imagination but then she remembered the little bump she had just incurred and knew this was no trick of the mind. Chevelle turned around in a circle and stopped when she felt she had turned in a 360 degree circle, but even then she could not be certain. She heard pawsteps following her voice echoes, “Yes, of course. I believe I can find my way now.” The light footsteps came closer and closer, and just a slight bit louder with every movement. Then it was silent again. The smaller esses voice suddenly appeared in front of her and Che jumped back slightly, “My, today is so cold. And adding to that, the snow is deep so it is even harder to get somewhere I can call shelter. Have you been here for very long or just a minute before I arrived?” Recovered from her little surprise Che took in a breath, “Yes, yes it is. Shelter is scarce out here in this part of the land. I had only just arrived when you came into the cavern as well. I am glad to have finally found you in such darkness. Hopefully the morning light will light up the entrance and can let us find our way out and into a more open space. I must admit it is a little tight for me in here, but I do not well in such darkness… Che’s voice was soft now, learning of the caverns echoing ability she knew there was no need even for a regular voice. |
