The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

Little Bird had managed to get back to the peak herd quicker than she has left to go and explore the rest of the mountain. She had explored a good portion but had spent the last week or so traveling as quickly as she could and now the yearling had reached the herd. The day was just beginning to start, the sun rising up and casting long shadows over the mountain. The yearling stood quietly with her eyes closed, enjoying the sun rays as they enveloped her. In the last season she had realized that feeling the sun rise was the best thing she had ever watched and felt. The rays lit up her coat best at the time of day and while she was exploring she enjoyed playing with her shadow. It made her wonder if anyone else enjoyed just standing as warmth cloaked them and just let one part of the day be a relaxing time. Little Bird hoped that if she ever left the Peak, she wouldn't have to leave the sun.

After a little while, the yearling turned away from the sun and blinked. She was still too young to enjoy staying still for too long a period of time, unless she was sleeping. Perhaps that was why she left the herd; she had wanted to explore something new for once and not have to stay still when she didn't wish to. The yearling wondered if Imp had missed her at all, but she suspected the filly was able to get along without her. Snorting lightly and staying somewhat close to the herd, she walked until she was in a comfortable position to graze and watch the mares mingle. New mares had joined and some had left, but Little Bird was relieved to see Imp and the other blanketed mare who had been with the herd when Little Bird first stumbled up the mountain. Still, she was not ready to approach the herd and mingle with them yet, right now the yearling was content to watch and relearn how to interact with the mares again.
