these people keep to themselves,
She had one question for the world - just one - and it was a simple one: what the hell was this? Why was the earth moving stupidly under her feet and why couldn't she walk properly? And why did it last only a few moments? Did she have some kind of neurological issue? Maybe a screw had come loose when she had taken a fall, or maybe she'd eaten something bad. Whatever it is, she didn't like it. It reminded her too much of that star all those years ago... the boom, the shake, the cracking of rock and grumbling of the earth. It reminded her of the way her home had been gone when she returned to Moladion. Everything had been swallowed up and yet, her hatred seemed to draw her towards it.
Of course, the event had to happen in the middle of her moodier time of year and it had to happen just a few days after she had arrived (again.) Where had she gone? That didn't matter... okay, so maybe she'd gone looking for another beach like Litherum. With that failed endeavor behind her, she had returned to where was home even if home wasn't truly there anymore. But for now, she was going to inspect whatever event had disrupted not only her sleep but also her peace of mind.
With a huff and a sigh, she had descended further into the craters, searching for any indication of the disruption. She imagined another crater like their own, dented deep into the earth surrounded by fire. The silence was almost unnerving, the normality of the landscape... concerning. She frowned, weaving through the crags on quiet paws, sniffing and prodding wearily at any and all oddities. Plant out of place? Sniffed. Rock fallen? Prodded. She carried on the ritual until faced with the abyss - ahead, she saw darkness, sudden and consuming. Instantly, she froze, staring down into the darkness.
Of course, that was until she heard a small voice echo out from the it - hello? Just as fast as she had been dumbfounded, she switched back on with a snort. Who the hell? What the hell? Now craters could speak, or had some dumb wolf decided it looked oh so homely in that place? Slowly, she marched over, hackles bristling and eyes alight with wicked displeasure.
"Uh, hello? I don't know if you know this but this wasn't exactly here yesterday..."
She spoke gently at first, her voice sweet and rhythmic as she called down into the darkness but with a mild pause, it turned sharper, more demanding.
"So, you know... what the hell made you think it'd be a good place to make friends? What? You gonna' befriend some rocks down there?"
Again, she snorted, displeased with how foolish some were but also intrigued. Maybe they'd found something worth finding, or maybe she'd get to see just what an earth tremor could do up close.
