The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

two - no mate - soul bound - taviora

Oh, he was just so insufferable, wasn’t he? She was clearly in no mood to deal with him, was pretty sure she couldn’t have been more clear about that, and still he decided to give her a little push.

”Got an issue with that?” Her eyes narrowed on the not-so-little prick when she was finished splattering him in a mixture of mud and dry debris, their golden specks flaring in dim light. She could see the scowl on his face after being sloshed and dusted with god knows what and, honestly, that pleased her to no end. ”Maybe I do.” The words dripped heavily with sass, her head bobbing and eyes widening to emphasize her tone. Good, be mad, she thought. Misery likes company, after all.

But that anger didn’t seem to last very long. The boy stalked forward with long steps, closing the distance between them and towering over her with cocky, raised brows. Suomi looked up to him, meeting his stare with her own inverse match, the defiance and attitude facing him off as if he were no threat whatsoever. Suomi... was on the small side - she always had been. Looking up, craning her neck, to meet the gaze of a taller wolf was nothing new. It was nothing she equated with inferiority or fear. His intentions of intimidation, if that was what he was going for here, were completely ineffective.

The humor and disdain, now that was another story.

So, he thought this was funny? Thought that finding her filthy and in a bad mood was amusing? Her nose twitched, lips lifting and quivering over her sharp canines as he continued to look down on her like... like he was looking down on her. Like he was something better. What an absolute cad. And then he spoke and made everything much, much worse. How could one boy be so... ugh!

”I didn’t fall, you prick,” Suomi retaliated, not bothering to hide the fluster he’d stirred up. ”The ground literally opened up under my feet and swallowed me. At least I didn’t choose to come here, unlike some idiot who apparently thought wandering into an collapsed, unstable hole in the ground was a good idea. At least I’ve got a good excuse for being here.” The words were coming quickly, her tone snappy and caustic, and she wasn’t done. ”I was out hunting for my family. And what about you? Surprise, surprise, on your own again. So, what? You get kicked out of your pack for overwhelming charm and manners? So, you’re suicidal now? Finally going to rid the earth of your disease, decided dilapidated caves were a good way to go or something? Because, honestly, dying in a hole seems to be in fashion for you.”

Tell her she was annoying, that somebody would rather drop her off in a ditch than be around her... He didn’t know one thing about her, and yet he was ready to assume so much. She didn’t need anyone. She didn’t force others to tolerate her. Taviora chose to accept her, and she chose to accept them. So, whether or not she annoyed someone, frustrated someone... Whatever, it didn’t matter. This boy didn’t know anything about her, nor did he seem to be trying very hard for the facts. He was just wasting her time with his cocky bullshit of an attitude.

”Whatever, I’m leaving,” Suomi stated with haughty adamance. She turned on her heels and began to stalk toward the dim glow of light around the bed a bit stiffly. That fall was catching up to her, every bump, slam, and bounce starting to be felt. ”But have fun with your suicide mission. I’ll tell the world of your great sacrifice on its behalf. Feeling better already, in fact.”

Suomi
Hey, listen, 'cause I'll only say this once.
