PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

the unholy ghost

Anath shouldn't be alive. Maybe she isn't now, maybe she's cold and dead. That sounded like something that was entirely possible, she'd been a ghost for the last... for the last ten years? Probably around that long. Her middle son would be about that old now. He was long gone... her oldest daughter, her youngest... gone. Anath didn't know how to handle that very thought, so she wouldn't bother. There were a lot of things she didn't bother with much anymore, and that... that was okay too. Her head was in a different place. Her head had always been here. And now she was here, and that was... that was crazy. Maybe she was crazy.

A part of her laughed aloud at that. Her shaky knees dragged the weathered body up the peak, maybe for the last time. Cracked hooves dragged up the slate of a place that had probably been dead since her youth. She'd left and come back so many times now that it probably didn't matter. Even in the old age, Anath found herself feeling like she could take on the world as she climbed the Peak. The queen... maybe she had been a queen here a long time. The lone creature at their head, so queen she had been. It was an interesting way of thinking about herself, even though... well, maybe Anath had hated herself. Not like anyone would be allowed to know that.

Dusk on a spring day, the scents of this place... the ghost of her own still swept across the place. Green eyes, a little clouded with age... a sunset. The death of thousands, terror and bloodshed-- another rough laugh, her voice ragged from years and years of use. Slow steps, steady steps, steps that were simply... simply put together. She'd never been this put together, this purposeful. Soreness had set in, muscle exhaustion from the swim over. Tired, but not too tired to return to her place. Standing on the edge of the universe, looking out over the sea and the shore.... like being able to see the whole islands from up there.

This many years later, she was alone on that ledge. Heart had gone after all.
