The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

It is obvious to Warlow the discomfort Mistletoe feels. For a second he ponders the reason, settling on the recent conversation and figures she must worry about their bond. He has no idea she feels pity for those that rejected their imprint. How could they? It was as if nothing existed without Mistletoe. Before her his life had been a gray cloud, a fog that he perpetually slogged through without noticing. With her there was sunshine; hope. But we cannot let Warlow dwell on such things, they are too boggling for his sour mind. Instead he leans into her again, his cheek rubbing against her shoulder happily. She is his soulkeeper and he can already feel his heart beginning to thunder for her. Natu had never felt the imprint he knew but he could imagine still the devastation it was to lose her heart. "How could I not?" Honestly he sounds truely baffled as he stares at Mistletoe. There was no leaving her - the idea was a thorn in his chest, a churn in his thoughts, an anxiety that he had never experienced. Mistletoe would have to be the one to leave him if ever that happened and she seemed rather inclined to stay with him so he was content.

Mistletoe is inquisitive, so very much different from Warlow and his normal somberness. The intricate way they press against each other and unconsciously seek the others touch and approval... it is beautiful. Pushing aside her own sadness Natu curls her fluffy tail against her side, eager to watch the couple. To get to know this friendlier side of Warlow and his imprint. "Wandering is pleasant. It is therapy to the soul," she agrees.

"Natu loves wandering too.."

Inclining her narrow maw Natu agrees with her brother's assessment. "But I have had my fill of wandering without a home. I think I have decided to settle in Spirane. The Alpha is very poised and polite. Still I do enjoy some adventure." She flashes her teeth in a cheeky grin, her mood lightening in the company of the other female. Warlow would have never spent so much time talking to her before; times had certainly changed. And Mistletoe was a lovely creature, both sweet and protective. She had no doubt the two would be good complements to each other. When Mistletoe criticizes Warlow's quiet demeanor Natu chuckles, her sparkling eyes glancing to her brother. "Believe it or not, Mistletoe, this is the most he has spoken in my presence in a long time. I imagine within the year he will be much more talkative. You seem to bring out the best in him." It is a compliment.

Warlow blinks at Natu for a moment before snorting, pretending as if he doesn't hear her but his lips twitch. It is true. He isn't stupid enough to deny it. Mistletoe is the change he never expected but one he certainly would never give up. "She eats pups." His words are so abrupt that he can see the startled look on Natu's face and attempts to hide his infuriating grin by burying his snout once more into Mistletoe's fur.

"If that were the case, dear brother, I would have eaten YOU the moment you were born." A sly smile edges her face and she licks her lips in jest. "Well Mistletoe my journey here has been slow and steady. There is not much to tell that isn't sad, really. Years ago I had a mate and two pups of my own, now a wistful look steals once more across her face. "But time has taken them from me and returned them to the beyond. So I have traveled, seeking new adventures and meeting new wolves. And now that I have stumbled upon Moladion I feel that I have exhausted my old bones. I do not wish to walk this earth forever with no home and no companionship. So I have settled here. It is as simple as that. What of you? What is your story? How did you two meet?" Natu attempts to steer the conversation away from her, to build the wall once more around herself so that she can earn the trust of this female because she is the one connection to the only family Natu haves - the connection that may bridge the gap between them.
