Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

I stood still my red ears pivoting about attempting to take in all of my surroundings. ”He is coming.” I say softly though it is not because I hear or smell him, they tell me, they tell me he is on his way, not willing to leave us alon in a land so foreign and strange. I have been told I was welcome here, I can intrude in these lands all I wish so long as I bring no harm to its members. My white sister comes closer to me then, for I am fine with. She is my blood my blood may touch my full angled marked pelt as they desire, anyone else. No, I do not like being touched, we do not like being touched. It is not that they are unworthy just it is so loud when I come into contact with others. I am finding my mind is constantly filled with voices and told memories. I know it comes from being so close with this star the fragment I found in the crater with the scared one who did not believe the fate I had told her. She knows it, but I am slowly learning that many do not have the means to change the hand fate had dealt them.

I set the borrowed rabbit pelt down, thankful for the relief of weight of the burden I have been carrying so far across the lands. He is near now, very near. I can smell his strange perfume that is like our family but diviates so greatly from being so far away, the sweet smells of home tingeing his fur but so slight only those who knew of the den he was born in would ever pick up on it. With more time it would completely fade but it was still there, he was my brother. I do not remember hardly anything of him. I wasn’t even off my mother’s milk by the time he had left us, vague colors sound of his voice, it was all I could remember of him. I am sure he remembers me a lot more, but he is not alone. If the girl had turned up before I did not know but I hardly doubt he brought them. They smell nothing like him but certainly of the pack. My age, surely. I do not mind them, though my head grows louder my ears fall back as the stars muddle in their bulked fates but strangely with my brother it is silent. Is he so different that fate cannot see for him? He cannot have a steady path to take? I wonder.

I pay the girls no mind as my brother brings himself before us, I do not remember him being so… short. Perhaps it is simply I grown large over my first year of life, nearing my second. Perhaps that is the case. He asks us if our parents know that we had come so far, I look back to her slowly before turning my gaze back to Starfall, rolling my large deeper cinnamon shoulders in a shrug as our sister replies. I have to agree somewhat. I am sure they will miss us but seeing as I vanish at night anyway I have a feeling they will not miss me until morning.

”It is not important, we are safe, that is all they ask is that we be safe. Is it not safe here brother?” I ask sounding innocent enough even offering a little tilt of my head. Brother Starfall says I must stay the night here with him, with this I certainly hold no qualms, it will be interesting staying under a different patch of stars for a night. I wonder if they will tell me different things? He places his paw just above my head stating that I had grown big. Yes, I suppose I had, it would certainly go along with my earlier thought that he was rather… short, yes. I dip my head slightly in agreement not sure what else to say then my sister speaks, distancing herself from me and the sound of a voice that came from the hill the girls had been watching us.

I did not mind their presence before. Now however I find my ears flicking back. How is it that I am to tell Brother my business with interruptions? And they even startled my sister further into the shadows.

”Come sister they will not be bothering us, too much further, not at all. Do not worry I will not let your fate turn sour.” I saw softly beckoning my sister come to my side, she can even touch me if she must. I will tolerate it if it brings her comfort, after all she did come with me so far from home.

The one who comes forward asking if we belong here I hear a resounding yell in my mind I cannot help but say the single word that continues to resonate there. ”Lucky. You are lucky…. How fortunate for you loud one. Though being like this I am not sure how.” I look to brother wondering if he knows them. ”The one who hides will not be so lucky, though she is more polite. How…. unfortunate. For I like your personality better.” I speak my voice quite flat and emotionless. I turn my gaze to the bright blue eyes of my brother and allowing them to focus on the girl again.

”We are welcome here loud one. We are from the sister pack of Diveen and he is my brother. Am I not allowed to see my brother, loud one?” I leave it at that for the moment my tail giving a flick letting her take in my words.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
