Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

Some say to get out fast, looks like it’s gonna last
Get all your things and Fly

He pulled himself forward he could hear the cries of his son in his ears and didn’t like leaving him there like that. He had to hurry and get this blasted woman to her den so he could go and get him. She had to go and not give birth in her den and get all passed out and bleed everywhere. He honestly was worried, really worried and he would be damned if no one comes to take care of her and he was forced to be embarrassed by trying to seek out one of the healers in the lands. He hadn’t gotten too far away when he heard a strange change in the sound of the cries of the child he had left. He turned to check on him, he felt his daughter squirm helplessly in his maw still soundless so silent so nice compared to her brother yet it was his voice that alarmed him.

Amutaq turned to see a female heading towards him his small helpless brown son in maw. Instincts at first caused his hackles to raise but some sort of fear twinkled behind as he watched her hold him. He froze staring at her feeling somewhat helpless and oddly enough annoyed about feeling that way. As she drew closer though he waited, hazel eyes on her drinking in her every aspect her every smell. She was an older woman, one he thought he recognized very vaguely but he did. He didn’t know how though, she was a strange woman probably older than his mother even but he didn’t think she meant the child any harm and she smelled of healing herbs that he remembered clinging so strongly to his mother’s pelt when he was just a child. Of course it appears she has… much for finesse than he does when it comes to carrying puppies carrying the boy delicately by the scruff for the first time Amutaq thinks he doesn’t hear the thing whining since he laid eyes on him. Thank god. Least that was something.

It was clear she was a Taviora healer, keen on her senses or something, here to check on Zeteri knowing she was so close to birth. Part of him wondered why it was she didn’t hunt him down and kill him while she wasn’t completely fat an able, she certainly chased him out of their little cavorting spot fast enough the following morning and he always did have a thing for the more fiery females. Either way, the female motions for the black male to follow her and he simply does, it wasn’t like he could really do anything about it… Or run away or anything.

Amutaq follows her in the smell of the den unmistakably Zeteri’s her scent is so strong and he had to resist taking a deep inhale of the perfume. He rolled his body close to the ground allowing the female to fall off before setting the little girl next to her. Stepping back and looking at the two children again with their mother. Sooooo what next? Good deed done healer was there he could just go right? Yeah that sounded pretty good. He was about to turn when the soft voice of the elder female reached his ears causing him put a smile on his maw trying to hide every ounce of concern and the ‘I really don’t want to be here’ face.

The female explained her condition and said she would take care of her, good, like he thought he could just go and again he stretched one of his white toed paws to start walking out the door no harm done when she stated the little things needed cleaned more and asking if he was the father.

Guilt showed on his face as the smile just flew off like a startled dove. Was it so hard to believe he was just a random passerby? Did he want to sell this female some bullshit story about him coming here simply to request his little gypsy troupe stay? Oh dear god the ladies in his group would not let him down if they found out about this, and Zeteri. Dear lord was he screwed in more ways then he could count if they found out about one another. It wasn’t like he was that way with any of them, it wasn’t to say he wouldn’t mind some extra lady attention but he respected the girls not to do anything with them. Perhaps some, like Spirit, might be happy for him? But he could see the look in d’Mani and that crazy grey fem he kept running into’s faces now. Ugh. Especially his scar faced friend. He couldn’t leave them though, as much as he didn’t want them to be his he couldn’t deny all the similarities they held to his blood and his own markings. Dammit….

”Yeah…. I um guess? I dunno for sure though.” He decidedly mumbled not really wishing to stir tales regardless of how true it may have been. ”I guess I could try cleaning them.” He stated not at all keen on the idea yet, but based on her knowing look it wasn’t like she couldn’t already tell one way or another with her healing voodoo magic or something.

Pulling the boy first he looked down at him pursing his lips slightly and almost steeling himself before starting to lick the child perhaps a bit too roughly. Of course more whining of the child insued causing Amutaq’s ears to fall back but he continued to clean the child until he was completely blood spot free. Gross, but honestly as much as he wanted to complain it wasn’t all that bad. ”They always so… loud?” He said flatly before grabbing his little girl. It occurred to him he had no idea if they had names or what, not that it mattered they were deaf, blind squirming potatoes right now and didn’t care about anything other than suckling and being warm anyway.

He began licking the girl, desiding he liked her silence a lot more though he would have sworn all puppies were decidedly nosy. He could see her maw open and close like her brother’s yet no noise. ”What’s wrong with her?” Amutaq asks genuine concern etching into his voice as he looked over his daughter. ”I mean, don’t get me wrong, I like that she isn’t screaming bloody murder like him, but shouldn’t she be?” He wonders a loud looking to the healer. He still thought she was familiar, very familiar in fact but how…? He couldn’t have known that she was a Magistor with his mother Brooke and at least knew of his father Amorak seeing as he had fun getting beat up. For sure Moth knew of his sister, Malina, though he just didn’t have the chance to put all these things together. He was just a child back in Trenus after all and only lived there for a short while before going off on his own adventures.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
