PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

Imp did not show that she was upset or even concerned about Little Bird's absence, nor did it seem she had noticed that the yearling had been gone for an entire season. It provided relief to Little Bird, she was glad to know that she did not cause any grief to the mare other than leaving her bored. The yearling had been over-thinking the entire thing, just as she had suspected. She flicked her tail and breathed on the mare's shoulder before flicking her ears towards her to listen.

The yearling snorted with little vigor to the words and lowered her head to peer at the creature Imp had been staring so intently at. It was a small snail, with a brown and striped shell. She reached her nose forward to nudge it but snapped her head back as the dirt-red mare stepped forward and crushed the tiny creature beneath her hoof. Little Bird's head rose to see that Imp was not pleased with it happening, and she guessed it was unintentional. The red mare spoke again, Little Bird pressed her ears into her mane in surprise. She guessed the base was where her mother left her, right at the foot of the winding trail that led up to the huge mountain.

Flicking her ears up and hoping the mare did not notice, the buckskin attempted to not panic. "Okay." Her voice was stronger than she expected and she moved to follow – or lead – Imp to where the path began and then down it. She had not been away from the Peak since the day she was bored and wandered down, only to get lost and meet Jezibelle.

Beginning the journey down, Little Bird took it slower than necessary and carefully placed each step until she was able to feel that falling would not kill her – which was was at the very bottom. The warm summer wind blew less harshly on them the further down they got until it was just a wisp of a breeze at the end. Little Bird moved to keep from blocking the path up to the mountain range and nearly leaned against the cliff she was next to. Different colored horses passed, each one a new breed and age. She had forgotten the rush of excitement last time she had visited, and had to keep herself from jumping out and exploring. Glancing over at Imp, she spoke again. "Do you ever go exploring here? I know there's more than just this plain and waterfall, but I've never seen any of it." She couldn't help but at least question about the rest of the big island, her skin twitching as a few flies found new bodies to prey on.
