PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

YOU LEFT ME IN THE DARK

IMPAZIENZA

There was fire under the ice, and Impa found herself responding the the silver-black mare’s snarky grin with an upward twitch of her own mouth. Most mares who climbed the mountain were quiet and self-contained, much like Daedra, but few seemed to share the passion that writhed beneath Impa’s skin. Daedra and Derry were the first in a long time— perhaps there was something to names, and she should keep her ears open for more mares whose names began with “D.”

When next her companion spoke, Impa did not resist the bitter smile that pressed her lips together. “Nothing so drastic,” she said with a short laugh, though the faces of many flashed through her mind. What she wouldn’t give to batter the bones right out of their bodies... She gave her head a small shake and dispelled the violent thoughts. Later, as the sun collapsed and bled all over the sky, she would take solace in all the scenarios where she was the ultimate victor, and not a defeated, broken mare playing at leading a herd on a mountain.

“No, all mares are welcome here.” She tipped her head to the left to run an appraising eye over the black and silver mare. Skinny and snarky, Daedra seemed like she would be a good fit for any of the three ranks on the Peak, although Impa thought thieving would suit the other mare best. Ultimately it was Daedra’s choice, of course. “Those who choose to stay for more than a few days fall into one of three categories: warriors, politicians, or thinkers. You, I think, would excel in the latter.” Provided Daedra had any intention of taking up residence on the mountain, of course. The half-blind draft blinked slowly and added, “Of course, it is entirely your choice.”
