Winchester Track
IP: 50.241.112.193

The tracks from Winchester were sent out to a number of individuals for confirmation of our identification. ALL of them except one stated they were a large cat. That one in state here, Paul Rezendes, said it was a cat, but a bobcat. (tracks are 3.5 inches across). Paul was sent the original pictures from the police, as was Mass Wildlife, who stated it was a canine track. Now today, I received an email from Paul, who spoke to Mass Wildlife. Now, this tracking expert, reverses and says they are canine! He states Mass Wildlife sent him "better quality" pictures than the ones I sent. The track I posted on here was one of the same series sent to Paul. I re-contacted a few of the ones that have confirmed this track, and they plainly say Mass Wildlife and Paul are mistaken, its an obvious track.
There are more photos from that site that the detectives that took the photos clearly told me were not in the same series, and weren't the same animal. It appears Mr. Rezendes and Mass Wildlife must have zero'd in on the obvious non cat tracks! They have clear claw marks etc. We stand by the identification, and find it odd the only dissenting opinion after they were sent out without any comment, just for ID, is from the same state at the wildlife agency! We will be presenting material sent to us by one of the track reviewers that looked at the track Friday. It includes photos of almost exact tracks out west, and a closeup of a cougar foot so you can relate it to the features in the track. Anyone find this all odd?? We sure do.
