His voice, the way it pulls at her…it is like he is her heart. It feels like he is her very reason for breathing and without him she would shatter into a million tiny pieces. It was not like this the first time, not soo upheaving yet it is better. The distance and time pulling upon their bond making it more explosive. She breathes him in, savoring his aroma, his essence as his whine causes her to whimper. The soft sound delicate as it slips from her. She wants to…what? Words fail her as she all but begs him closer, to confirm that he is no illusion, that her heart races for naught. And then he is upon her, his chocolate and silver snout presses upon her own, the gentle pressure causing her heart to explode with bliss. She is ravenous, greedy, as she moves forward, filling the gap that he has created. She wants more, so much more as she nuzzles his neck, pressing her nose deep into his silvered neck. Her sides expand as she takes a breath, dizzied within the heady aroma of earth and moss, while marveled by the pine that touches her own as well.

Reluctant is she to part from this slice of heaven after enduring hell for so long. She lingers, breathing in and out, heart thundering within its cage in an attempt to meld with his own. Why had she waited? Why did she wallow so long without him, was this how Ragnar felt? Is this wonderous feeling that fills her soul, her body, her mind what drove him to leave her? Forgiveness washes her right then, as her eyes pricks. What is this? This emotion that causes her eyes to water, to make shivers rack her body? Confused, yet blissfully so, she finally retreats, but only a step back to her previous position directly before him as her eyes blink rapidly for a few seconds.

His head tilts, and she barely resists the urge to drag her tongue across the chocolate of his muzzle. Instead she watches, her cool optics never leaving his as he reclines, his new position finally giving her a nice view of his missing appendage. Bewitched she moves forward, her delicate nose twitching as she sniffs at it before lovingly tasting his flesh upon the stump. The position she is now in is very intimate, and she is highly aware of such a thing yet still she investigates. She fears not that he would snap at her for it, for she feels him deep within her, knows him like she has known no other and will never know another. Another whimper leaves her throat, but it is far from pitying, more of a beg. She wants more contact but craves knowledge as well. What gave him such a severe wound? It healed nicely however her honor demands that he had sustained it honorably as well.

”What happened here?”

Her cool breath whispers between the fur before she pulls away, turning to sit beside him. Her body is close, but already she misses contact, misses his heat. His words find her then, reassuring and gentle as they caress her. She smiles, a heartbreakingly tender smile as she gazes forward, resisting the urge to lose herself within him yet again. There will be time for that, right? He would dare think to part again…would he? What if he didn’t feel the force as strongly as she?

”I am Valkyrie.”

She pauses before finally turning to him, icy orbs searching for his.

”Do you feel this? I feel you. I wish not to be away from you, does this make me foolish?”
