I remember reading a great article about a mountain lion sighting in Mawhah NJ on the Suffern NY line (Ramapo mountains). Probably early 2000's.I'll look for it and post it if I can find it. I grew up in Suffern and the Ramapo Mountains are perfect big cat territory. There is even a mountain there called Catamount and our high school sports teams were the Suffern Mounties. We had a giant blue fiberglass mountain lion as a mascot that would be taken to football games.
