Danny nodded as the deity answered his question, making a small note about the distinction between titles and epithets. He was feeling more comfortable at the mere idea of interacting with other deities now, not that he had any intention of bothering such important people without a very good reason, but it was nice to know he would feel more prepared if he ever had to. Danny sipped at his sahlab, resting his hand for a moment, as he listened to Khase's explanation of cartouche's and the scribal symbols before quickly jotting down examples of the three: the scribal palette, the palette and the man, and a palette with a cartouche around it. His drawings weren't all that improved from his earlier ones, but they were legible at least. He smiled, enjoying the lesson more than he'd expected. The Scribe was patient with his many questions and informative, and thanks to his copious notes, Danny felt he was really learning a lot from the man.

Eager to learn more about the deities who called Shaman home, Danny sat up in his seat and cupped his drink, listening closely as Khasekhemwy began his lecture. Danny paused now and then to scribble something into his notes, mainly important dates and names, nodding to show he was paying close attention.

"Sir, why is it that ordinary fairies require protection from original fairies? Have there been many other instances where original fairies abuse their powers?" Danny asked curiously, his head tipping to the side. He knew, of course, of Gwythr and his actions, but was unaware of other instances. Another question, relating to the deaths of those fourteen other fairies, rested on the tip of his tongue but, after studying his teacher's face for a moment, Danny thought better of asking it. He cleared his throat awkwardly, trying to think of something else to ask that would fill up the silence instead.

Solarius, at the hearth, let out a loud snore and flopped over, exposing his other side to the warmth and startling Danny into nearly dumping the last remaining bits of his drink into his lap. Danny looked up as Khase asked him which deity he was most interested in. Most students would leap at the suggestion, no doubt requesting more information about one of the more prominent deities, but Danny took a moment to consider it. Part of him was sorely tempted to ask the scribe more of his own history, but Danny thought such things might be too personal for a first lesson.

"Would you tell me more about Allianah, sir? I mean, the warrior," Danny corrected. "My brother, Flynn, has mentioned her sometimes, and I know Dylan will probably meet her eventually too if he's a good enough fighter. Which he is, I mean, he will be someday."

Danny smiled a little sheepishly at that; even if he didn't necessarily understand them sometimes - Danny often considered himself less brave than Flynn and Dylan - he was utterly proud of them both.

"And, sir, which deity would be the... patron, I guess, of healers like Doctor Gupta?"
