Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

How had he been supposed to respond to any of this? It wasn't like his own mate or even his own children to weep or curl into balls of malnutrition and misery. Still, he could at least be there, right? Stand there, or sit rather, and attempt to seem like some sort of comfortable presence. That was part of being an Alpha, he figured - at least being able to feign understanding. He did a rather satisfactory job of it, he thought. He remained close, allowing her the time to reply rather than watching down on her expectantly. Whatever she had gone through had apparently been... trauma, though her body spoke not of the physical kind.

"There is nothing to be ashamed about in leaving, dear girl."

He spoke quietly, too, mirroring her somewhat as he leaned down, taking the opportunity to quickly assess her once more for wounds. It was then that she rose and he stood back quickly, retracting and giving her plentiful space though... he kept close enough so that he might make a dive if she were to topple over. With legs to thin, he could not help but wonder how long she could remain standing, particularly with a body that still shook with every word. Still, he listened, nodding slowly though he found it difficult to understand entirely. Her soul? Perhaps she spoke of a mate? He could at least make an effort to understand how awful that might have been.

"Perhaps this mean little now," he begun, taking a cautious step forward as he met her gaze, offering her the smallest of smiles, "But the sea never leaves those that have called this place home."

It was when he went to speak to her once more that another moved into his peripherals; a large male, tall and broad of shoulder. Instinctively, he could not help but feel his hackles rise somewhat, his eyes cutting to the towering male as he stepped towards Riopat. He'd always been hesitant towards males, particularly in the presence of women and now, he was especially hesitant. It was clear Riopat was in no condition to be traumatized anymore. It was only when the male spoke that he lowered his guard, his hackles easing though he remained closer to Riopat than he had been prior, eyeing the boy somewhat suspiciously. He had dwelled in Glorall? Everchime? He expected the boy was another that had left out of loyalty for Rhoedias, or out of disdain for the multiple switches in power before Tesseract had come to rule.

"Once a wolf of Glorall, always a wolf of the sea - is that is what you so choose, of course. That goes for you, too, Mortz."

He paused for a moment, glancing between the two before continuing, stepping aside to allow Mortz access to Riopat now that it had become apparent that they might, indeed, know one another.

"If you desire a den, I can help you to one, Riopat. I can then leave the two of you alone to reconnect, if you so please."
