The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Oh such grace! Oh such beauty!
And lipstick, and callous
and fishnets and malice

Harridan was left alone for a moment, the girls disappearing and when she was confident that Abraxus wasn't trailing her (he thought he was being sooooo sneaky, but she knew better) she decided to check out the Grotto. At least that was what all the cool kids, the little birds that fluttered by and the few wolves she had chosen to stalk decided to call it. She ambled through the crags before finding a new cave entrance. She sniffed around the entrance for some time before deciding to go in. She had no desire to come head to head with a bear without Abraxus trailing behind her. Or in general. They were really so ill tempered that Harridan couldn't really be bothered to deal with their nonsense. Or teeth. Or claws.

As she entered the Grotto the first thing she noticed was the change in temperature. It was significantly cooler than it had been in the summer sun. She listened and heard little than her own footsteps and the dripping of water. Water? In a cave? Well that was enough of an incentive to continue to creep downwards in the depths of the Earth. It was clearly far deeper than any den she had ever inhabited. As she progressed, it was clear that she would be entering pitch black if she didn't emerge somewhere else soon. Without a second thought she pressed forward. What was the point of living if you did not push your limits right?

Her nimble feet took small steps around a corner, and there ahead she saw light. Moving towards the light, she picked up her pace. There was open cavern, with a rather large hole in the ceiling bathing light onto a river that curled and then disappeared into the dark. Red amber eyes roamed over the cavern, before catching sight of another. "Awww, I'm not going to be able to name this place after myself now." It was clear that the disappointment was genuine even if her tone was a little sarcastic. She walked towards the waters edge, wondering how deep the river was, if there were any fish there to catch. What did cave fish taste like anyways? She glanced towards Purge tilting her head. "Anything tasty to eat down here?" Wasn't that always the question? Harridan was always thinking about the next meal. Maybe she would take the girls down here if cave fish was delicious. Teach them to fish. Harridan wasn't particular concerned about Purge, as she had no fear of anyone for better or for worse. Harridan was confident that one way or another she would survive this encounter and even if she did have a little bit of a scuffle with Purge...she would live. Harridan was, as always, a survivor.
