Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Summer was coming to an end, and that meant Sebastian had been wandering for almost a year now on his own. He hated being alone like this, especially during the winter months, but he didn't have a choice. His old pack had been ripped apart by inner turmoil, and he had been forcefully separated from his mother and siblings, his father being killed by a vicious rival within the pack. They had all known of Caracat's distaste for Tampo's rules, but none had ever thought he would kill the alpha just like that. He'd somehow manage to convert a few other pack members, mostly those at the bottom of the social ladder, and they supported him fiercely; those who stood up for Tampo fought bravely, but they were defeated in the end. Being the rightful heir to the pack, Sebastian was cast or else face execution.

He could still hear the pain in his mother's howl as he ran that night, further and faster than any of Caracat's goons could follow. It broke his heart thinking about it, but he didn't want to risk her life as well by staying and putting up a fight. Now here he was, wandering some strange land trying to find a place to call home. He'd managed to come across a few packs along the way, but they were on hard times themselves and could not afford another mouth to feed. Luckily, he had never been lacking in the hunting department, but a lone wolf could only manage to kills something about three of ten tries he made. He was skinnier than he should be, and his coat lacked the luster that the well-fed son of the alpha should have. He didn't mind though. Perhaps he would be lucky and stumble on a warren of rabbits tonight. One could only hope.

The moon was shining bright in the sky tonight, as no clouds seemed to be near, but it was not yet full. He remembered the happenings that often went on during the full moons in his old pack, and his missed playing with his sisters. It was funny how he had been the only male born in his litter, but some of his sisters were tough enough to fight with. Keeja, in particular, was a tough bitch if he'd ever seen one. She had more of their father in her than Sebastian did. He hoped she was doing well and that she wasn't forced into breeding with the scum that ran the pack. A soft sigh escaped his lungs as he lowered his muzzle to a puddle, quenching his thirst. He hated that he had run off so cowardly.
