twelve - no heart - no soul - Spirane
this is her in blackouts
The pain in her head is sharp and she feels as if she is suffocating in it for a few moments. As the dizziness passes and her lungs fill with the air around her Natu once more opens her eyes to see the figure of Ailith moving closer to her. The wolf is cautious - a wise choice, but Natu can sense no malice from the wolf that has saved her from certain death. Despite her fogged head she knows this at least. It would take a twisted wolf to drag a half-dead victim to an open area, staunch her bleeding, and let her wake just to watch her die beneath their jaws. Still, she wouldn't have put it past the wild eyes of Lillith. What had she done to provoke such viciousness from her? She knows, instinctivly, that Lillith is not a creature to be reasoned with. Her mind does not function in the way of the normal creature so to compare her to such and try to figure her out would be useless. Still Natu persists. There is a heaviness within her now that had not been there before. Gone is the joy that only this morning she had felt, briefly, touch her soul. It leaves a bitter, burning trail within her.
Natu sighs, a breath filled with pain and frustration. Why must her life drag on so? Had she not tried hard to move on in her life? No, she hadn't tried hard enough. She hadn't been smart enough. Nothing would change if she sat back and let time pass her by while she wallowed in her depression but now it was not sadness so much as fury. There has always been an innate kindness to her but as she searches for it now it is oddly bereft. Even if she found it she knew it would leave her wanting. For what? Revenge? Completion? Death?
As Ailith speaks Natu turns her head side to side in an attempt to figure out what other wolf she was talking to. It takes a moment for her to realize that the wolf is talking TO her and ABOUT her at the same time. How strange. Maybe it was a byproduct of her head injury but Ailith keeps speaking in such, touching her nose to Natu's head. This wolf knows where she is from and Natu doesn't question why. At the moment she is just trying to figure everything out as her body leans back into the ground, head placed atop her paws and eyes gazing up at the female. "Yes, I am. Thank you Ailith. I'm Natu." The words come out in sighs, her eyelids closing and opening several times.
She cracks a smile just as Ailith intends, although it is not as bright as it would have been before. "The demon is probably already back in the safety of her marshes with the other devils. I thank you for your offer though. You are a kind wolf, Ailith, to do such for one you do not even know. I am in your debt. Do you plan to stay within Spirane as well? It would be nice to see a friendly face."
