Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

SHE SPINS AND SHE SWAYS

TO WHATEVER SONG PLAYS

WITHOUT A CARE IN THE WORLD

It had been almost a full year since my foster mom's death, a full year of living life on my own. You'd think i'd be lonely but I wasn't, i'd made such wonderful friends: Nogitsune the demon, Shiloh the angel princess, and Alusion the pirate. I wasn't sad anymore thanks to them, because I knew i'd never be truly alone anymore. Even if we couldn't be together, they'd always be with me. I knew my momma would be proud of me, I could imagine her smiling down from the clouds. She hunted in the sky now and one day i'd see her again. But until then, I was going to make the best of my life down here; just as she had told me to do.

I trotted out of my den with a bright cheery smile tugging at my cheeks. Sometimes I smiled so much, my face began to hurt! It was a beautiful day out and I couldn't contain my butt as it wiggled with happiness. There was a slight limp in my step as my purple eyes found there way onto my splayed paw. It didn't hurt me any, nor did it affect me much, just made me walk a little silly from time to time. But not even my paw could dampen my mood as my trot turned into a run. To where I didn't know, but my mom always said the best adventures are those you don't plan.

I remember, when I was smaller, how my momma would tell me stories to help me go to sleep. Her stories were always so amazing! I remember one about a wolf named Voltaire. He was a strong, loyal warrior that loved pups and fought to protect them and his pack. One day his pack was attacked by another pack! While he was fighting bravely, his pack members were killed or ran, until he was the only one left. But he was so loyal he refused to give up, believing they would come back for him. The alpha of the rival pack captured him and took him prisoner, liking Voltaire's bravery, loyalty, and fighting skills. He tried to recruit Voltaire, but he refused, making the alpha super duper mad! So the alpha had some of his wolves attack poor Voltaire, giving him a nasty scar down his leg. But not once did Voltaire betray the ones he loved, nope. Legend has it he escaped and ran to moladion, but I don't know how true that is. My mommy swore up and down it was the truth! So I had to believe her. I hope I can meet Voltaire one day! I want to be as amazing as he is!

I smelt water up ahead, so I picked my pace up to a goofy gallop of sorts. I burst into the field, laughing as I ran through the grass and flowers. My tail wagged as I slowed down, nearing the lakes edge. I allowed my feet to dip into the water, swatting playfully at little guppies and tadpoles that swam by my toes. I would have kept playing, if I had not caught sight of another wolf which pulled at my curiosity. I watched the older male lay down, his tail wagging and his eyes looking up happily at the sky. I bounded over, a bright, friendly smile on my face.

" Hiya mister!" I chirped sitting down just in front of him. "Whatcha smilin about?" I asked, my head tilting slightly and my ears flopping over in a comical way. It was then that my purple gaze landed on the scar running down his leg, it reminded me of Voltaire's. I jumped up and moved a little closer to his leg, careful not to get to close. I stared at it curiously for a second before looking back up at him. "Thats a nasty scar. It reminds me a lot of one this wolf has from my momma's stories," I said, before going back and, this time, laying in front of him. I held out my paw for him to see. "Looksies at my paw, its twisted and splayed out cus something smushed it when I was still inside my momma," I said with a smile. I'm sure I was talking his ear off, but he looked like a friendly wolf. Maybe he'd become my friend! "My name's Aviias!" I yipped happily, my tail beating the ground with delight.
