With winter fast on their heels, he had begun to make preparations as best as he could. Having gathered the pack, he had assigned pack tasks to each of them, ensuring that not only would they be busy, but the pack would once more be further advanced by spring. He had high hopes for the lot of them and come spring, he hoped to approach Diveen once more to reaffirm their treaty and Iromar to... well, at least see where their standing was now. It seemed that the woman, Vera, had laid low since her demands, and it seemed Andras had not been making out outward efforts towards Diveen. It was probably a good time to attempt a treaty of sorts.
To ensure the winter blew over easy, he had taken once more to regular patrols of the border. With the majority of his pack out doing their work, it was up to him once more to further secure their boundaries. The island to the east did not need so much attention, but the mainland borders certainly did. With all the challenges that had been occurring, it was of utmost importance for him to let them be aware of his presence. As tedious as it were, it was just one of the necessities that came with being a leader. Besides, it gave him a good chance to enjoy the scenery and to enjoy his own thoughts. He would be nine soon - he couldn't say he had done too terribly for himself and the others. How, though, could he make things even better?
The question had been cut off short in his mind as he caught movement in the distance; two wolves, one small and delicate and the other broad, distinctively masculine. From a distance, he chose to pause for a moment and observe, watching as the smaller one seemed to dash about cheerfully. From his observation, he gathered they shared some sort of bond; perhaps like his own with Caligula - mates, perhaps? Whatever the case, their actions did not speak of threat and for that, he was thankful. It allowed him to retain his rather sober mind set, after all.
With a sharp, brief howl of calling, he hoped to bring their attention to him as he began to jog forward once more, tail arced over his back and bouncing loosely with each stride. He had to be fast to keep up with them, but it did not take him long to reach their location, his head cocked slightly as he glanced between the two of them.
"Pleasant morning, is it not?"
He called out to them before coming to a halt some five or so feet to their side, relaxing his posture as he kept his gaze levelly between the two. As a pair, he insisted not to allow his attention to dwell too long on the other. Firstly, he wished not to establish either of them as the superior and, secondly, he knew how... unnerving it could be, at times, for a male to look over a female so often. He could speak out of experience in that regard: there was no male that he dealt with when it came to the sanctity of his beloved.
"It is even more of a pleasant day at the shore, I can assure you."
Pleasantries to start with. He needed to gauge their intentions, after all.
