Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

So it seemed that not everyone agreed with what had happened, even in their own pack. The gray winged one that had given me some dirty looks at the burial arrived in short order after I had sat myself on the ground. Yes little bunny, what is the meaning of all this I think to myself as I await the others that are slowly arriving, their scents are familiar to me but only in passing and from the burial. I have my own plans and they do not involve the new 'leader' of this pack. I am silent as I wait for the one wolf that speaks to me in general. A soft nod of my head is all that she gets but there is something within my eyes that shows understanding. I have learned from Beowulf to master my emotions and though my words were true and from the darkest pit of my heart, it was merly all for show, though none here would know this because none of you twits can read my damn mind.

I watched her shuffle closer and a brow raised ever so slightly, "your... fear? is un-needed, I have no desire nor need to harm any of the wolves within this pack below Snowshoe" my words are flat and simplistic, there is no warmth to them, no depth of cold but there is a meaning in them. A truth that few would get. I honestly have nothing against any of these wolves that stand here but Snowshoe, so they are safe from my trained mind. I do not hurt for the fun of it, I do not kill just because I can. I do so because I am needed to. I turn my head to watch a young female come into the area.

"Respect goes both ways" I say with my deep voice as I watch Snowshoe through a hooded gaze, my voice devoid of emotions, my face and body devoid of muscle twitches that would clue others into my anger at being told by this half wit what to do. "Silly Snowshoe, you must have tripped on your way back here, hit your head on a big rock and knocked your brain around within your skull." My words are smooth, once more devoid of anything remotely anger. If anything I sound slightly pleased that she has choosen to look at my words the way she had. "I did not say it would be my paws that would rend your flesh from your bones." I turn from her to her son, "little one, did you hear me say that it would be me?" I ask the little runt and smile, the corners of my lips pulling the skull mask across my face into a twisted grin. A fight well won, I could have snarked at that one if I had known she was thinking that comment. There was no winning in what she'd done with her battle with Purge and I know this. A coward excepts the easy way out.

"I do not believe that it would be the same, Snowshoe. But then again, that just shows how much you 'honour' your old alpha. Such a cheap way to win." There is no malice behind my words, it is more so like I am reminissing about the past. I know that even if a family owns a pack for a long time it does not mean that the pack is run well, she speaks of a chance to prosper. Spirane had many chances to prosper under the old rule, as far as I was concerned those who 'claimed' Spirane had their chance to make it do such a thing. When I had been here before I remember her scent being just as weak as the alphas.

A laugh leaves my lips, my head tilting back as Snowshoe asks me of Purge, my heart is hers and hers is mine, that is how it was and how it would always be. I do not follow Purge, I walk with Purge. "Personally, I would have waited as long as was needed. I do remember Moonglow had this 'honour' you speak so highly of. She waited for Purge. A fair fight that had been indeed. Even given the end consiquences." I stare back at Snowshoe with a bored expression upon my face as my lips peel back from my teeth as a yawn splits my mouth in two. My eyes narrow at the last of her words to me "Stop blaming Purge for their death." The words were bland but not ment to hurt Snowshoe's fragile feelings, "yes it was sad and yes we will all mourn the loss of two... well liked individuals."

"But Purge did not mean for Moonglow to die, it was not her fault so get that out of your mind. No one means for a life to be taken unless it's an order given by a superior." I sigh, my large sides heave inwards sharply as I grow tired of this futile creature before me. "You keep bashing Purges rule, and yet did you try anything during such a time to help her out? did you take the time to talk with her? to get to know her? In my time, I have seen many packs come and go, many leaders rise and fall. Many of them fell because they thought with their heart and not their mind. Think before you speak little wolfess, did Purge come in and bash talk Moonglow's reign? no. She gave her a honourable burial, a tomb to remind the mountains of what they had once had, of their past and where they came from. She could have left the bodies to rot, could have let the vultures take their eyes for a meal."

"But she didn't. She showed respect." This was true. If Purge ment to kill Moonglow, or not. Was not the matter right now. These wolves, not all, were stuck in the past. "You challenged Moonglow once before for this pack, and lost. So I think your comments are mute in this discussion. If you need me I will be around. Do not come alone Snowshoe." That is all I have to say and with that I leave. I go off to the small den that I have choosen as a base of operations. I will stay within this pack. I will 'show' her respect. But she must earn it first.
