Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

anemone

The fear of the unknown always haunted the pale girl, her dual eyes watched carefully from the darkness. She was scared, she’d always been scared, but now more so. Her father and mother were gone, four years, she’d been all alone. The girl was never going to be the same, plain and simple.

Anemone was the daughter of Camelot and Lalia, seven years old. Dual colored eyes, one pink, one gold. Pale tan and white, she was a sight for the eyes. And yet, she preferred to hide out and never been seen by the naked eye. Heard but not seen was the preferred method. She wouldn’t run out into the gathering like most of the wolves, instead, she watched it all unravel from her hiding spot within the bushes. She felt the wind brush against her, a chill in the frosty air. Signally that eventually, Spring would be coming and more pups would be surrounding them and eventually, she wondered if she’d be one of those mothers. Not now though, no, no. She was much to vulnerable. She didn’t feel her seven years, she still felt like she was three, being left all alone without anyone around to care for her. She was a lost girl, a silent set of eyes that would watch everyone and everything.

The wolves chased the herd of elk, some going as a team, others taking off on their own to try and defeat one of the larger than life creatures. She was hungry, starving really but she was far too afraid to approach anyone, to see if she could possibly eat as well. Instead, she’d probably hang around until the hunger pains got too strong and she’d have to go in search of a much smaller game to feed herself on. She didn’t want to try and be dependent on anyone, but at the same time, she never really ate well, enough to keep herself going but she was slim, much too slim to feel healthy. She was supposed to be over a hundred pounds, right now she was barely pushing eighty-five. She needed to gain a good ten to twenty before she was back to her radiant self, but then again, she wasn’t about to go and beg from the group.

Instead she stared, the hungry sounds rumbling in her stomach, she could feel the drool and the urge to hunt, but the desire to stay hidden took over the hunger pains.
