aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

“Winter is pretty nice,” Leila agreed. “I don’t like it for the same reasons as you do though… I can’t really ‘blend’ in at all like you can; it’s kind of difficult for me you know?” The female let out a small laugh. In winter she was a prime target if any creature chose to attack her. She had no chance at blending in. Her dark fur made her bold against the snowy landscapes; the only part of her body that blended was her stomach.

After inquiring, Aindreas began sharing parts of his story. Leila’s gaze fixed upon him with a curious expression. It seemed that he did not have a close relation with his mother; instead he seemed disgusted and angry to have to call her his mother. The girl could see why he felt like that, she didn’t know anyone who could just abandon their pup because they felt it was too much responsibility. ‘Soon after Casey was murdered in front of me.’ The girl’s eyes widened, a nauseous feeling rising within her stomach. It seemed he had suffered far more than she had imagined in the beginning. “Yes, your answer was…” She said, “sufficient.” The maiden hadn’t expected such an open response, Leila had always thought of him as a reserved character.

“So you’re going to be living in Moondown Shadows… That sounds pretty good, I don’t know much about the pack though, except that it was scarce of wolves…Maybe Aurora will have another strong alliance if it grows in numbers.” The girl commented. It seemed her newly made friend would not be around for long then, though at least he was still in Blossom Forest and living in a pack that Kalgalath approved of.

Aindreas rose after suggesting moving the conversation to a different part in the pack, although he wasn’t very familiar with the layout of the pack. She hadn’t realised that darkness had arrived so suddenly, she had become caught in their conversation. And she too wished to continue it, the girl raised her brow, “of course, just follow me Aindreas.” Her pallid teeth spread as she led him through Aurora’s territory.

Leila’s paws danced lightly upon the ground as she travelled towards her destination – it wasn’t a long distance, and though she did not attempt conversation it never seemed awkward. Her paws stopped outside the alcove of her den; it was the shelter of pine trees fixed with the bedding of fallen pine. “This is pretty much the only place I could think of, and hey I can trust you.” She confirmed, her slender body making no effort as she passed through the crevice. It was a small, seclude area. But its smallness seemed to be of comfort in the dark nights. It almost seemed less frightening. She lowered herself to the ground and peered up at the pale brute. “Care to join me sweet heart?”
