PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

YOU LEFT ME IN THE DARK, Skylar

IMPAZIENZA

After her conversation with Mouse, Impa strode across the Peak face to where she thought she had seen the blue roan tobiano mare walk to. It had been tense between Mouse and herself, and truthfully the majority of her attention had been on the short grullo mare and not the vaguely familiar horse who stood beside her. Having finished her conversation with Mouse, however, Impa was now free to focus on the tobiano.

Impa knew she’d seen the mare’s face at at least one Peak meeting, and at various times mingling with others in the herd. She certainly recognized the smell: Mouse had come to her smelling of the stranger more than once, and Impa hadn’t really made a note of it until now. The two were friends. How odd that she should begrudge her one friend the company of another— but Impa was lonely, and her heart longed for common company, for someone to share her burdens and for someone whose burdens she could lessen.

A life spent waiting for a repentant father was a life wasted, and she refused to spend the next decade of her life alone.

All of that would have to wait, however. She caught sight of the other mare and stretched her legs to eat up the ground between them, jogging to a stop once she was a few feet away. “Sorry to keep you waiting,” she said as she settled beside the mare. “I know I’ve seen you around the Peak, some time ago, but I don’t believe we were ever properly introduced. I am Impazienza, but you may call me Impa.” Her icy tone from earlier was gone, and she spoke as if the other mare hadn’t witnessed the beginning of a spat between herself and another mare.
