PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

you think things are straight, but they're not what they seem

Black Heart Machine and Impazienza walk together in silence to the summit of the Peak. The air was thin and crisp, and with each breath she took she felt invigorated. Across every land she knew, there was no place she is more at home than right here. In this moment, the dark mare is certain that she would never leave again.

As Impazienza speaks, Machine listens, flicking her ears back at her mention of her absence. While she didn’t appreciate the reminder, the point the Prime Minister made was a valid one and Machine nods slowly—choosing not to make excuses. Instead, she hopes to explain what might be done about the very unfortunate reality that not every mare knew what salvation the Peak might hold.

“As you well know, the Peak is and always has been a refuge for mares who need it. Whether that’s for a season or for their entire lives. It is not up to us to dictate its purpose for each individual.” Machine pauses and turns to face her companion’s good-sighted side. “But I see that might not be common knowledge any longer.”

Machine listens to Impazienza continue, speaking of the circumstances that led her here. Indeed, every mare that arrived had travelled a different path—some under more duress than others. It was part of their creed as Vulcans to not turn any of them away, regardless of their choices. Whether victims or vagabonds, they all could find what they needed as long as they were open-minded—and of course, aware of this place’s existence.

Are you here to stay, Black Heart Machine?

The dark mare turned and looked her large counterpart straight in her eye, speaking with a very careful cadence that suggested she not remotely question Machine’s presence again.

“I believe you already know the answer to that question.” She pauses, holding her intense gaze for another moment before softening as she continues. “If you need my help, then let us help each other.”
