an island girl and a pirate flag

Cae had always been the even tempered, friendly face of her island herd. The young colts were always inviting her out to kick and jump in the turquoise waters of their ocean. They had frolicked in frothy waves, until the concerned nickers of their mothers would call them back to their sides. Cae's cerulean eyes fall on the face of their colt, cute kid. He had his father's proud features, she supposed that he would either follow in his farther foot steps or strike out on his own. She wonders about the colts of her home island, what had ended up of each of her playmates. Maybe they had found families of their own as well. A smile breaks through the mask of pain that had covered her pale features...awww home.

Gandy speaks again, her words sliding from her mouth with pure irritation... commenting on how she should of been taught to swim and her leaving a blood trail. If Cae had the strength she probably would of shot her another retort but her strength was now focused on hobbling down the beach. The only acknowledgement Cae gave Gandy was a pin of her ears and a glare laced in ice. What would she know of how and why she had came to the Forest? Soljor had been accommodating, but Lyden had stolen her heart from him, she could not help her feelings. Gandy was angry with her for endangering the herd, but Cae had never wanted a meeting such as this, she liked low drama. Cae had slipped on the slippery rocks that bordered the bay, she had fallen, scrapping her leg. She hadn't even felt the pain, it was not fear that drove her from the Bay but it was the hunger that she felt for Lyden, to see him once again. She now knew that she had been a fool, it had placed her in this predicament. Hastily she had rushed into this situation and she had to pay the consequences, now Gandy loathed her. Great way to start her new life.

Lost her own thoughts, she is jolted out by Lyden's words, she was home. She had not felt like she belonged somewhere since she had left her island home. "Thank you. " Was the only words that she could manage to say, she feared that her mask would break if she spoke more than those two words. Each step, is pain, but she finds relief in the salty waters of the pool. Falling to her knees, she soaks her now bloody wound. Blood mixes with the salty water, with each lap of the water against her legs, the pain ebbs. Clambering to her feet once again, she lifts her pale crown, the pain eases from her face. Her cerulean eyes fall on Lyden, his concern plain on his face. "I will be fine. It is just a scratch." Tossing her head, her pale forelock covers her eyes, creating a veil of hair that she can hide behind for just a brief moment.

Carefully she picks her way out of the shallow pool, her steps less painful. Her limp noticeably better, her cerulean eyes fall on the well worn trail that wove through the trees. This must be the way to the clearing that she spoke of, but she was curious of where the herd had settled for the night. It would be best if they could return to the herd. If it wasn't far they could return to the herd, than Lyden would be able to stand watch over his herd. Not giving Gandy's demands a second thought, she offers the next words. "I think... That if the herd is not far, I would prefer that we head towards the herd. It would be best if they were not alone through out the night. Even if you guys have to leave me for a minute because of my pace it would be better than the herd being alone." Raising her head in a defiant stance, she knows that Gandy would be unhappy with her decision. She also would not back down from her decision either. Cae supposes that they are in what you would call a stalemate, until one of them gave in.
