Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

For whatever reason, she had been drawn back to the woodlands, perhaps in search of some clue to point her in the direction in which Legion had come from. Admittedly, she had grown to love the boy and yet, she felt it was only right that she attempt to learn whatever she could of his short past. In time, he might want to know, for every child questioned their parents at one point or another and he? Well, his question seemed all too obvious: why did he stand out so much? His eyes had opened recently, revealing a deep purple shade so unlike either hers or Pan's own. How could he not ask that inevitable question? It'd come soon enough.

It seemed that her had run short, however, for the area around where she had found him offered no clues. Whoever his mother had been had covered her scents well and now, the world had begun to reclaim any distinct indication of what had happened. It burned so many questions into her mind and yet, she had been forced to accept that she would find no answers, not now at least. She spent some time merely sitting where he had been, pondering the possibilities before a sigh escaped her lips, a sound of utmost defeat as she rose and began back towards Spirane.

She smelt... blood, though, faint and yet distinctly there. She paused, sniffing at the air wearily as her heart fluttered in anxiety. What had happened? It was not old, not stale... it was close. Instinctively, she began to follow the scent, finding its source soon enough as a child lay beneath the pines. She almost missed him at first, his form so brittle and narrow that he appeared as a pale shadow or perhaps rocks strewn across the dirt. She gasped, her ears flattening as she crept forward, quickly scanning the area for any indication of a potential threat. No predators, not even another wolf. Why was he here? Why was he alone? Why did he seemed so hungry, so tired, so battered? A feeling within her told her the same thing it had been whispering all day: she wouldn't find answers.

Still, she could find a solution. Perhaps that had been what she had always been good at. Slowly, she moved towards the boy, her face painted with a look of pained concern as she woofed beneath her breath in hopes of rousing him.

"Child... can you open your eyes? Are you... okay?"
