At Sperantia's not-so-subtle warning, Min ruffled her feathers and fell quiet a sullen, "this was totally my decision and has nothing to do with you" sort of silence, but silent nonetheless. Torram couldn't help but smile a little, only Birch had had the power to silence the stuffy, stubborn bird with a mere look before. More often than not, Min would say the first (typically unpleasant) thing that came to mind and get both of them into trouble. At least someone was capable of shutting her up, even if only for a minute or two, since the ornery bird never listened to him if she could help it.

The group fell silent, Birch absently patting Ro's rounded tummy, while Sperantia seemed to process what she'd been told. The cat all but radiated annoyance, or perhaps frustration? Torram found it understandable, but Birch... Birch understood on a level not even Torram could have guessed. Their forgetting had come at different times and for different reasons, but Birch, too, had once lost herself. Fragments, sharp and jagged yet mirror bright, had forced their way to the front of her consciousness now and then, but they had been elusive, pieces of a puzzle that never seemed to fit together. At least Sperantia had retained a level of her... humanity, one could say. She could still speak, and she wasn't large enough to become a man-eater, so Birch could only hope Sperantia's remembering would come more easily than her own had.

Torram's question went unanswered, but then, no one (except perhaps Ro) was surprised by this. Cats were elusive creatures, mysterious and clever, and if she had any intention of continuing her... adventure, one could call it, it was unlikely she'd give away her hiding spot so easily. Tor could only hope that wasn't her plan, since rumor had it the other fallen deities were showing signs - small signs, but signs nonetheless - of returning to the world of the living. If Mallos woke without Sperantia... Torram didn't want to know what might happen. Birch's expression changed a little when the cat asked after Mallos. Birch leaned up against the headboard of her bed, tugging Ro with her (who was now completely limp from pets and went along with it quite cheerfully), as she thought over how exactly to explain this.

"Uhm, well, first... Do you recall what it is to be a familiar?" Torram asked tentatively, clearly worried he was about to offend the cat but unsure how else to phrase his question.

"Mallos is an original fairy," Birch added. "He's..." Her lips twitched a bit, as if she was trying to hide a reluctant smile. "Certainly an original. Do you remember anything of him?"
