the stars move still

“the stars move still, time runs, the clock will strike”

Marlena’s call received a quick reply. Her ears twisted instinctively towards the noise, and her head followed a moment later. A smile leapt to her lips as she caught sight of Kasabian headed towards her, his bright golden pelt darkened slightly by the rain. She turned to face him properly, pleased to receive such a warm welcome – it helped to reassure herself of her decision.

“It’s good to see you again,” she replied, grinning even wider at his words as he drew closer.

She accepted his greeting touch openly, bumping her own velvety muzzle against Kasabian’s shoulder in return. Pulling back again, she allowed her bright blue eyes to wander over the land surrounding them as he spoke. She took everything in with long, careful looks, not wanting to miss anything on this new island. There was so much of the world she had yet to see, but she could start here for now.

“No matter,” Marlena assured him, still smiling softly. “I don’t mind the rain, it’s rather refreshing.”

She returned her attention to Kasabian, shaking her long, damp forelock out of her eyes. She felt relaxed stood here, cool and comfortable in the rain on this new land and with her newfound friend. Her ears perked up at his offer, and she nodded brightly in response, eager to see the rest of the Ridge.

“That sounds wonderful,” she replied brightly.

Marlena shuffled her feet, ready to follow Kasabian wherever he took her. As they turned to head further into the territory, she glanced back at him by her side.

“So what have you been up to since we last saw each other, Kasabian?” she asked with polite curiosity.
