The boy's amber eyes peeled open as the cold morning sun of fall entered his den through a crack. 'Damn why can't it be warmer' he thought while he yawned a stretched. 'Then again, it's not nearly as cold as the blasted weather I came here in.' and with that train of thought the boy's mind was flooded with the memories of the white female who had introduced herself as Natu. 'I wonder how she is. Is she alright? how is her pack, now?' he had heard the near constant howls of victories raining down from the mountain that the white female called her home; and now all that remained from the rock was silence. He always was the type to worry about friends, even if he had only met the female once. He didn't really have anyone else to worry for since his parents left this earth a few months before his arrival, him being their only child left their homeland in search of a pack. The dappled boy shook his pelt, shaking away his worries as well, before making his way to the entrance of his shelter. A shuddered traveled down his spine as he took a breath of the colder outside air, his broken ear flopped as he moved from the crags heading around to the sandy banks on the other side something driving him to move faster than he had in a long time.
The boy's blood flowed fast throughout his veins bringing the warmth of his muscles to the rest of body. as he entered the fields moving through the tall grass without concern for the little creatures scurrying out of their hiding spots as making his way to the southern most banks, careful to mind the border between the pack and the free lands. To his delight he found that the sun had risen enough so that the sand was out of the shadows of the canyons occupied by the pack. Not wasting a single moment, he stretch out in a on his side laying across the warm sandy bank, allowing the sound of the lapping waves to lull his mind to a more relaxed state. Just another normal day. No sooner than he felt the sun begin to heat up his fur he heard paw steps behind him causing his ears to twitch, but other than that small movement he remained still, waiting curiously to see what the others would do.
