aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Test My Will, Test My Heart

The siblings swam lazily through the water back towards the shore when Adara spoke, telling him she was not as fragile as he seemed to think she was. Adara assumed it was some sort of sexist thought, that because she was his sister she was not as strong as him. She did not know his real reasons for being more gentle with her, and she probably would never know with how little Aindreas spoke his mind. When he gave her a scoffing look she playfully glared at him and nipped him on one of his white ears sticking out from the water before swimming off towards the shore. When they walked out and shook out their pelts the siblings began talking about the new pack they had joined. What they thought of Striker and his leadership qualities, others that they had met in the pack. Adara thought it was surprising that her brother had more interaction within the pack than she had. She was by far the more social one and yet she had kept to herself in this pack, as if she was afraid of getting attached to her new home. She could only hope that it would eventually feel like a home.

Adara changed topics to Aindreas’ past, wondering what had happened to him at Munashii Gekko that had caused him to leave. She could tell how loyal her brother was and that something must have happened since he left. He was not the type to leave for no reason. A sad smile appeared on the white brute’s kissers and Adara frowned, waiting patiently until her stoic brother was ready to speak. After a moment he spoke as the siblings walked through the territory of their father’s pack. Her brother’s past was not a happy one and she wished that he had had a better childhood, but there was no way for her to change that now. ”I did not know that about you. I’m sorry to hear about your adopted mother, no one should have to witness something like that. We’ll just have to make sure you have some happier memories at Moondown Shadows than you did at Munashii Gekko I suppose. And Striker already seems like a better lupine than Serris. Striker seems like a good leader.” The femme could only hope that her brother felt more at home and more comfortable with her at their new pack than he did at his old one.

The snowy brute coughed as he so often did after longer speeches and brushed his pelt against one of the trees within the terra. His next words hurt Adara in a way she did not know she could hurt. “You will leave, everyone does. You may not mean to, but you will. I take no offense to it. It just seems to be how it happens.” The silver femme reeled around, forcing Aindreas’ steps to stop as she turned and faced him, nose to nose. She knew it was not his fault that he felt this way, it was the fault of everyone that had hurt him and abandoned him in the past. But this time it would be different. Adara would never leave her brother, ever. If she had known sooner that she had another sibling she would have sought him out. As soon as she had learned from their mother that she actually had two brothers and not just one she immediately began searching for the brother she had never met. How was she supposed to have known sooner since their mother had kept it hidden for so many years? It physically pained her when she thought of everything her brother had gone through and if she could she would change how things had happened, but she couldn’t do that no matter how much she wanted to. It was so frustrating, trying to prove to the brute that she was not like everyone else that had left him and she didn’t know what else she could. She could only hope that more time would prove to him that she meant the words she next spoke as her artics stared into his, ”Aindreas, listen to me. I know others have you hurt you before but I am not them. I will never become them. I will not leave you, no matter what may happen between us. And if you don’t believe me I WILL prove you wrong. And hopefully one day you’ll come to trust me as I trust you.” She was not mad at him, could never be mad at him for these feelings, but she wanted, needed, him to believe her and she didn’t know what else to do. She lowered her head for a moment, gazing at the ground as she sighed. ”Aindreas, you’re my brother and I love you. I promise you I will do everything I can to show you that I do mean what I say.” The femme pushed her forehead to her brother’s, hoping he would be okay with the touch for a moment even though she knew that he normally was not an affectionate or touching lupine. Her next words came out in a whisper as a whine escaped her throat, ”I’m sorry for everything that has happened to you.” Adara backed up from her brother, eyeing him to see his reaction to what she had said, wondering if it would even mean anything to him or if he would continue to be skeptical of her and everyone else around him.

Adara shifted back to her brother’s side as their walk continued and she pointedly kept her blue orbs facing the opposite direction from her brother for a few moments. When she turned her head back her orbs met Aindreas’ and he spoke again, conversation moving back to issues of pack life. The femme was getting used to conversation with her brother going from one topic to another and back again in an instant, it’s just how Aindreas was. The white brujo brought up the topic of a lupine that the femme had not yet met. “I forgot to mention there is a wolf in Moondown Shadows I want you to be wary of, though in truth I want you to be wary of any and all wolves until you truly know them. Right before the hunt, one femme named Celeste approached the border, seeking membership. There was something about her…” Her brother’s vocals fell silent for a moment and she waited patiently until he found the words he needed and continued. “I do not trust her… she reeked of betrayal and alternative motives. Take care when she is about, though time will prove to show her true self. So have you found yourself a den yet?” Adara nodded her head in understanding of her brother’s words, appreciative of his concern. ”I will keep an eye out for her, thank you. And yes I have. It’s just about in the middle of the pack territory, covered by the shelter of trees and brush. I already know that you’ve made one.” She spoke the ending words with a smirk, remembering how dirty her brother’s white pelt had been when they first met up earlier in the day.

OOC: got a burst of sibling muse here <3
