At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

_________________________________________________________________________ The pretty gray femme was basking in the sun, letting it warm her fur and bodice. It had been days since she had more than a few minutes away from her annoying little sister. Sometimes Lady wondered why she had even bothered to leave with Nymeria and not just run away on her own. It would be much more peaceful if she had done that and not helped her younger sister escape. But in reality the older teen would not have been able to escape her imprisonment in the evil pack without her younger siblings help. Lady was a coward and knew nothing about fighting. But Nymeria on the other hand was the opposite, afraid of no one and knew a thing or two about fighting, even if she was young. But the older girl would never admit that, to anyone, ever. She would never admit that she needed her younger sister to survive. Not only was Nymeria the one that could handle herself better but she was family, as much as the petite femme hated to admit it, the young ess was her sister. And she couldn’t just leave her. Her brothers were gone, they could all be dead for all she knew, and she did know that both her mother and father had been murdered. So who else did she have left but the annoying brat that was her sister? The petite femme rested her head on her paws, closing her eyes, enjoying the sun and solitude when she heard a voice and whipped her head up, jumping to her paws in surprise. How could she have been so stupid to entirely ignore her surroundings? She relaxed though when she saw who it was, relief spreading over her. Fear had momentarily engulfed her, memories of the old evil pack she had lived in for so long spilling over for a moment before she remembered where she was and that she was not there anymore, that she was away from those lupines, forever. Lady shook her head quickly, focusing on the words that the femme before her were saying. “Well here’s a familiar face…It’s Lady isn’t it? Must be the first time I’ve seen you without your sister… I’m Bree, in case you didn’t know. Seems we both had to get some space”. She gave her an apologetic smile as she cocked her head to the side. Lady recognized the femme from when she joined and from the pack hunt. She was glad that Bree had supplied her name though, Lady had trouble keeping straight who everyone was, especially those she had not spoken to much. Lady nodded her head at Bree, letting her know she was correct in her name and that she had not mixed her up with someone else. ”Hello Bree. Yes Nymeria and I are not often apart. It took some effort for me to get away from her to be honest. She can be quite overbearing actually. You’re usually with Senya right? Are you two sisters or just friends?” The petite femme surprised herself with the ease that this conversation to came to her. Usually speaking with newer lupines had been frightening lately, but Bree did not frighten her at all. She was nice and didn’t speak harshly at all, her quiet tone made Lady feel safe. And so for once the femme gave someone else a genuine smile, something she had not done in a long time. She sat down, curling her plume delicately around her paws as her yellow orbs looked towards the femme questioningly.
